Back when I was in college, I had a nightmare of a time just trying to keep my weight up, even though I was basically eating everything in sight. My "secret weapon" ended up being a 32 oz protein shake where I’d actually melt an entire stick of butter and mix it right in, then chug it between dinner and hitting the sack.

I realized pretty quickly that I could get way more calories down if they were liquid rather than trying to force down more solid meals. Adding that shake put me at an extra 3,000 calories a day, which was finally enough to keep me from losing weight. It sounds absolutely insane when I say it out loud, but it worked for me.

a whole stick of butter is actually mental lol i bet your heart was screaming at you. i did something similar with olive oil back in the day and it made me feel like i was sweating grease 24/7. whatever it takes to get those gains though i guess!

that is the most chaotic bulking story ive heard in a minute haha. 3k calories in just one shake? id be stuck on the toilet for three days straight if i tried that now. mad respect for the dedication to the bulk though college era is different.

liquid calories are definitely the move when you hit a wall but butter is a bold choice man. i used to blend peanut butter and heavy cream but melting a stick of butter is next level. did it actually taste okay or were you just holding your breath and chugging?

man i feel this so hard. being a "hard gainer" is honestly a curse sometimes. people think it’s a blessing to eat whatever you want until you have to force down a 3000 calorie shake right before bed. the things we do to get big stay crazy.

rip to your gallbladder lmao but for real i get it. i used to put ice cream and oats in a blender just to stop the scale from moving backwards. glad you found something that worked even if it sounds like a literal heart attack in a cup.

32oz of butter shake sounds like a complete nightmare but hey if it works it works. i remember trying to eat a dozen eggs a day and i smelled like sulfur for a month. i think id prefer your shake over that honestly.

this is basically "gomad" on steroids lol. honestly most people dont understand how hard it is to actually eat enough when you have a fast metabolism. id love to see the macro breakdown on that butter shake just for the laugh- definitely post it!
