Hey everyone,

I've been hanging around here for about a week now and I’m really liking the vibe of this forum so far.

I’m thinking about starting a daily log to track everything as I move through my offseason growth phase and head into the 2019 competition season. I'll be sharing the details of my diet, training, and whatever gear I’m running.

Just to be clear, this isn't going to be some "how-to" guide for competing - honestly, that’s not really something you can just write out. I’m not a pro yet, but based on how things are going, I think aiming for a pro card is a pretty realistic goal for me. My approach to training and diet isn't anything crazy or reinventing the wheel, but with the way social media is these days, I feel like most of the info out there is just backed-up nonsense anyway.

I also feel like the whole social media era has kind of killed the spirit of actual competition. Between the filtered-to-death photos, sponsored athletes who haven't earned it, and people constantly telegraphing their every move, it’s a bit much. I’m hoping this is a better, more low-key spot to actually talk shop with like-minded people without the drama of Instagram.

Hopefully, this log is helpful to some of you, and I’m definitely looking forward to picking up some tips from the rest of you along the way too.

man i totally feel you on the social media thing. instagram has honestly ruined the sport - it's all about lighting and filters now instead of who actually puts in the work at the gym. i'm really looking forward to following your log because it sounds like you've actually got your head on straight. good luck with the pro card hunt!

welcome to the community! i think starting a log is a great idea - it’s always cool to see the "boring" day-to-day stuff that actually builds a pro physique instead of just the highlight reels. 2019 is gonna be a big year for a lot of guys so i'll definitely be subbed to see how your offseason goes.

man "sponsored athletes who havent earned it" is the story of the decade lol. it’s refreshing to hear from someone who just wants to put their head down and work. what's your current weight and height? looking forward to seeing the diet and training breakdown.

honestly this is way better than instagram for actual info anyway. people here aren't trying to sell you tea or waist trainers lol. definitely start the log man - i love seeing how different people handle their offseason gear and food. what shows are you planning on hitting for the 2019 season?

subbed! i’m in a similar boat just trying to grow as much as possible before next year. i think the low-key forum vibe is way better for keeping you accountable without all the ego involved in social media posts. looking forward to picking up some tips from your progress.

get that log going brother! always room for more serious guys in here. aiming for a pro card is a massive goal but it sounds like you’ve got the right mindset for it. dont worry about "reinventing the wheel" - the basic stuff is what works best anyway. cant wait to see the first update!
