does anyone know any good ways to break down scar tissue at home like i’m wondering if a massage gun or rolling around on a lacrosse ball actually does anything at all or if i’m just wasting my time. do i need to go see a professional for a massage or is that even gonna work?? honestly i’ve been such a pussy about it because i basically only pinned my glutes for the longest time but i finally started doing delts last year. i know i probably need to start hitting my lats or ventroglutes but im kinda lost on how to actually do it without messing up. anyway i really need to find a way to break up some of the knots in my glutes because it’s getting pretty bad in there.
lacrosse ball is the way to go man. it hurts like a bitch but if you lay on it and just let it sink into those knots it helps a ton. i had the same issue from only hitting glutes for like 2 years straight lol. definitely look into ventroglutes though its a game changer once you find the spot
honestly a massage gun helps but it only goes so deep. if its really bad you might need to see a legit sports massage therapist- just tell them you have some "knots from training" lol. and dont stress the lats, just watch some vids on youtube its way easier than you think
bro the ventroglute is literally the best spot once u get over the nerves. its way easier to reach than standard glute shots too. for the scar tissue try a heating pad for like 10 mins then hit it with the massage gun. i do that twice a week and it keeps things from getting too crunchy lol
lol i feel u on being a pussy about new spots. i was terrified of delts for the longest time. if ur glutes are that knotted up definitely take a break from pinning them for a few weeks or it just gets worse. lacrosse ball while watching tv is your best bet for now
man i hit a knot so hard with a massage gun once i almost passed out haha. it works but u gotta be consistent. maybe try some warm epsom salt baths too? helps soften things up before u try to roll it out. gl with the lats man u got this- its way less scary than it sounds
