honestly im really struggling to stay on top of my training lately ever since i started this new job. its super demanding and by the time i finally get home im just drained and have zero motivation left to hit the gym or do anything really. i just cant seem to find the energy anymore after a long shift
how do u guys deal with this kind of stuff? like do u have any tips for getting it done when your just totally wiped out from work. i hate missing sessions but man its been rough lately
man i went through this exact same thing last year and it’s a total grind. honestly the only way i survived was going to the gym before work. if i sit on the couch for even five minutes after a shift it’s game over and i'm not moving for the rest of the night. try hitting it early and see if that helps!
i feel you 100% - new jobs are absolute energy vampires until you get used to the routine. don't beat yourself up too much if you have to scale back to 3 days a week for a bit. it’s better to do a quick 45 min session than to just quit entirely because you're overwhelmed. hang in there man it gets easier.
coffee and a loud playlist are my only saviors when i’m drained after a long day lol. sometimes i literally have to chug preworkout in the parking lot of my job just so i don't drive straight home. once you get through the first set the energy usually comes back but man that first step into the gym is the hardest part.
honestly maybe try a home workout or something quick just to keep the habit alive? when work is kicking my ass i just tell myself i’ll do 20 minutes and if i still hate it i can leave. usually i end up finishing the whole workout anyway once the blood starts moving. just gotta trick your brain!
