So apparently there's a new study out showing that a ton of people using anabolic steroids are just going to online forums for help when they want to hop off gear, instead of actually talking to a doctor.
Its kind of wild because experts are basically sounding the alarm- they're saying there's so much bad info and "bro science" on these sites that it's going to lead to a bunch of health problems that people could've totally avoided if they just got professional advice instead of listening to randoms on a thread. I guess since the advice is so inconsistent and all over the place, it just makes everything way more risky for everyone involved.
yeah this doesn’t shock me at all. a lot of people are scared a doctor will judge them or flag them, so they’d rather trust some anonymous dude with a shredded avi and 3k posts lol. the problem is half those guys are just repeating stuff they heard from someone else who also didn’t know what they were doing.
i get why people avoid doctors, but it’s kinda crazy that people will risk their hormones long term based on forum replies and vibes. feels like a mix of ego, fear, and bad info all feeding into each other. definitely a ticking time bomb for some folks.
yeah, that doesn’t surprise me at all. so many people are scared of going to a doctor or think they know more than they do, so they just trust some random forum post. problem is half the advice is recycled nonsense from someone who also didn’t know what they were doing.
it’s wild how much risk people take thinking they’re being smart. honestly, getting legit medical guidance might feel awkward, but it beats dealing with long-term health issues down the road.
yeah, this is exactly why i don’t get why people rely on random forums. so much of it is just recycled bro science from someone who also had no clue. one bad tip can literally mess up your hormones or liver for months.
honestly, talking to a real doctor or getting legit bloodwork isn’t that scary, and it beats risking long-term health just to save a few bucks or get an ego boost online.
yeah that honestly doesn’t surprise me at all. a lot of people are scared to talk to doctors because they think they’ll get judged or flagged, so they just trust some dude with a username and a before pic. the scary part is how confident some of that advice sounds even when it’s totally wrong. feels like a mix of bad info + ego + fear of being honest with a professional. whole thing just shows how messed up the system is when people feel safer on a forum than in a doctor’s office.
yeah this doesn’t surprise me at all. a lot of people are scared to talk to doctors because they think they’ll get judged or lectured or flagged forever, so they just trust some random dude on a forum instead. problem is half that info is outdated or straight up wrong and people treat it like gospel.
i get why people do it though, there’s still a ton of stigma around gear so nobody wants to be honest about it in real life. but yeah, relying on bro science for something that messes with your hormones long term is kinda scary when you really think about it. feels like there needs to be way more judgement free medical help for this stuff or people are just gonna keep rolling the dice.
yeah this makes total sense, honestly. i’ve seen so many posts where people are just copying what someone else did without any real medical guidance—super risky
it’s wild that people trust forums more than doctors sometimes, like yeah you might get anecdotes, but nothing beats actual science and bloodwork
facts. forum advice is cool for opinions but bloodwork doesn’t lie
yeah people wanna hear what they want not what’s actually smart lol
hormones aren’t something to guess with- labs save a lot of headaches
it feels slower but it’s way cheaper than fixing problems later
wild how many dudes trust anonymous posts more than a doctor tbh
