We all know the Chinese oils are the cheapest option out there, but what about finding the actual cleanest stuff? I see vendors posting purity tests all the time, but they never seem to show contaminant tests for things like heavy metals or bacteria.
Obviously, those tests are more expensive to run. And I know there’s always going to be that one person in the comments talking about "spoon feeding" or whatever, but for the people who actually care about what they're putting in their bodies, maybe we should look into pooling some cash and energy to get this done ourselves. It feels like it would be worth it to know for sure.
i've been thinking about this for years man. everyone obsesses over whether it's 98% or 99% pure test but nobody talks about the lead or mercury that could be in there from the manufacturing process. i'd totally be down to chip in for a real lab panel.
lol watch out the "just pin it and shut up" crowd is gonna come for you. but seriously you're right - those raw factories in china aren't exactly medical grade clean rooms. id much rather pay an extra 50 bucks to know i'm not injecting heavy metals.
this is a great idea. maybe we could set up a group buy for testing? if we get like 10-15 guys to split the cost of a full toxicology and sterility test it wouldn't even be that expensive per person. it's our health on the line at the end of the day.
honestly i think most vendors dont show contaminant tests because they know they wouldnt pass lol. or they just dont care because they know people will buy the cheapest oil regardless. i'm tired of just crossing my fingers and hoping for the best every time i pin.
the "spoon feeding" guys are the worst lol like sorry for wanting to live past 50? i've seen some of the setups where this stuff is made and its sketchy as hell. definitely interested in seeing some actual data if we can get a group together to fund it.
it's funny how we spend so much on high quality food and vitamins but then inject random oil from a bathtub in china without a second thought. i'm 100% in for a community testing fund. let's make it happen.
do you even know which labs actually do heavy metal testing for oils? i know janoshik is the go-to for purity but i'm not sure if he does the full contaminant panels or if we'd need to find a specialized lab for that.
i'd be curious to see the results for some of the "top tier" ugls vs the super cheap ones. i bet half the time they're using the exact same raws anyway. having actual proof would be a game changer for the community.
man i had a nasty infection last year from a "legit" source and it made me realize how little we actually know about what's in these vials. bacteria testing should be the bare minimum. i'm down to help however i can.
