I’m in my early 40s and just got started on TRT. My doctor prescribed 150mg of test cyp, but the catch is it’s only once every two weeks. My bloodwork came back at 226, so I definitely needed the help. The vials they give me are 200mg, and the official instruction is to just toss the leftover 50mg after each shot.
Honestly, it feels like a waste. Should I just stick to the 150mg like the doc said, or would you guys just pin the full 200mg when I'm not close to a blood test?

man whatever you do dont throw that extra away its such a waste lol. honestly id just pin the full 200mg. the difference between 150 and 200 isnt gonna blow your head off but you'll definitely feel better in the gym especially since your already training 5 days a week.
once every two weeks is a total rollercoaster though man. your gonna feel like a god the first few days and then crash hard by day 10. id honestly look into splitting that dose into at least once a week shots- maybe even twice a week if you can handle the needles. it keeps your levels way more stable.
definitely dont toss it. thats crazy that the doc told you to just throw money in the trash essentially. id just run the full 200 but like the other guy said try to pin more often. also maybe keep it to the prescribed dose right before you get bloods done so your doc doesnt freak out and lower your script.
congrats on starting trt man it changed my life at 42. i was in the same boat with the 220ish levels and it felt like i was moving through mud. id probably just use the whole vial but just be careful about your hematocrit and stuff long term. more isnt always better but 200 is a pretty standard "high" trt dose for a lot of guys.
throwing away 50mg is a crime haha. id just use it. but seriously that 2 week schedule is gonna suck. you'll see what i mean after a month or two. try to talk him into weekly shots it makes a massive difference in how you actually feel day to day- good luck with the progress!
