so is a 1 inch needle actually good enough for a ventrogluteal shot? i usually stick with the 1 and a half inch ones but i ran out or whatever and all i got left are these 1 inch needles for now. i'm pretty sure itll hit the muscle since i'm lean and dont have a ton of fat on me - im not a huge guy by any means.
just wanted to double check and see if anyone thinks i'm missing something important before i go ahead with it... it should be fine right?
dude if you're lean 1 inch is more than enough for VG. i actually switched to 1 inch permanently because the 1.5s felt like i was harpooning myself for no reason lol. as long as you arent carrying a ton of fat on your hips you're golden.
totally fine man. i use 1 inch for everything including glutes and ive never had an issue. if u can feel the muscle under the skin you're definitely hitting it. just bury the needle all the way and u wont have to worry about a sub-q leak.
honestly 1.5 inches is overkill for most people unless they're pushing 250lbs+ and carrying some fluff. i use 1 inchers for VG all the time and honestly even half inch slins work if ur shredded enough. you'll be fine brother.
yeah man dont sweat it. the only risk with shorter needles is getting a little bit of a "leak" into the fat layer which can cause a small bump or some redness but at 1 inch on a lean guy that basically never happens. go for it.
i actually prefer 1 inch. less chance of hitting a nerve or hitting the bone if u get the angle wrong- that shit hurts lol. 1 inch is the sweet spot for ventroglutes imo.
ur good. i ran out of my regular ones once and had to use 5/8" pins for a week lol. worked just fine. 1 inch is standard for most of us anyway so u wont even notice a difference.
lol i remember the first time i used a 1.5... felt like it was gonna come out the other side. 1 inch is plenty. just make sure ur actually hitting the VG and not drifting too far back toward the "main" glute where the fat is thicker.
literally havent used a 1.5 in years. if ur lean like u say then 1 inch is totally the way to go. it’s way less "mental" too when ur staring down the needle lol. you're overthinking it man, just pin and move on!
