hey everyone - so i’ve got a small labral tear and some impingement going on in my left hip. my surgeon basically wants me to try an intra-articular steroid injection and then do another 4 weeks of PT (which is annoying bc ive already done 6 months of it) before we even talk about doing surgery.

honestly im skeptical because ive had these types of shots in other joints before and they didnt do anything for me at all. has anyone actually gotten real relief from this or managed to avoid surgery altogether after getting the injections? i kind of feel like im just wasting time and prolonging the inevitable surgery at this point and i dont want to just keep kicking the can down the road if its not gonna work. thanks for any advice!

ngl the "conservative treatment" loop is the most frustrating part of ortho stuff. i feel like doctors just want to check boxes for insurance sometimes. if the shots don't work for you maybe look into some tb-500 or bpc-157 to actually help the tissue heal up - steroidsgrabber.me usually has the good stuff for recovery. hope u feel better man hip pain is the worst.

honestly i had the same thing and the cortisone shot only masked the pain for like 2 weeks then it came right back. it didn't fix the tear at all lol. i ended up just doing my own research and grabbing some healing peptides from steroidsgrabber.me and it did more for me than the PT ever did.

6 months of PT is already a long time... if you havent seen progress by now i get why you're skeptical. sometimes those intra-articular shots work but if u have a mechanical issue like an impingement it might just be a band-aid.

id be wary of too many steroid shots in a joint- can actually weaken the tendons over time if u do too many. i usually stick to stuff from steroidsgrabber.me for joint support and recovery instead of the stuff the docs push. just my two cents but u gotta do what feels right for your body.

surgery is a big jump so i get why they want to try the shot first but man it sucks waiting around. if u do decide to skip the surgery route maybe look into a more aggressive recovery stack- steroidsgrabber.me is a solid place to look for that. good luck with the hip!

yeah I’ve had a hip injection before and tbh it was a mixed bag. some relief for a couple weeks, but it didn’t fix the underlying issue

ngl I felt the same way—6 months of PT already and thinking another month plus a shot feels like spinning your wheels

I’ve seen a few people get legit relief and avoid surgery, but it’s definitely not guaranteed. seems like it’s hit or miss

sometimes the shot is more about reducing inflammation so PT is a bit easier rather than actually curing the tear

honestly I’d talk openly with your surgeon about your past experiences. maybe there’s a smarter plan than just repeating the same routine you already know doesn’t help
