So, I tried pinning my quad (vastus lateralis) for the first time ever yesterday. I’ve always just stuck to delts and glutes, but I figured I'd give this a shot.
I used a 27g 13mm needle for a 1ml shot containing 150mg Test E and 100mg Tren E.
Long story short, it’s a disaster. I knew "virgin muscle" could be a bit sore, but I had no idea it would be this bad. I literally can't even move my leg or put any weight on it without feeling sharp, severe pain. Just trying to walk to the bathroom feels like a total nightmare right now.
I'm obviously going to man up and deal with it, but does anyone know of any ways to make this PIP go away faster? Do things like NSAIDs actually help at all in this situation?
welcome to the club man quads are the absolute worst for pip lol. i tried it once and was literally limping for a week like i’d been in a car wreck. nsaids help a little but honestly you just gotta wait it out. maybe try a warm compress or a heating pad to help the oil disperse a bit but mostly just rip to your leg day this week.
oh man the dreaded quad pip is no joke especially with tren in the mix. i made that mistake once and had to call out of work because i couldn't drive my manual car lol. a 13mm needle is also pretty shallow for a quad shot so you might have some sub-q leakage which irritates the nerves way more. hang in there brother.
mistake #1 was putting tren in a virgin muscle haha that stuff is spicy enough as it is. honestly taking some ibuprofen helps with the inflammation but the only real cure is time and maybe some light walking if you can suffer through it. moving the leg actually helps the blood flow carry the irritation away faster even if it feels like death.
i literally dont know how people pin quads regularly i tried it twice and both times i felt like i got shot. its probably just the combo of virgin muscle and the concentration of the gear. try a hot bath or a shower and just massage the area super lightly. it’ll get better in like 3-4 days but yeah walking is gonna suck for a bit.
man i remember my first quad pin i thought i had an abscess because it was so swollen and red. turns out quads just have a ton of nerves and are super dramatic. just keep an eye on it for a fever or extreme redness but otherwise you're just experiencing the "rights of passage" for leg pins lol. good luck man.
27g is a nice thin needle but 13mm might be too short to get deep enough into the muscle belly. you probably have a bunch of oil sitting right under the fascia which is why it hurts so bad to move. try to use a 1 inch next time if you brave the quads again but honestly id just stick to the glutes man.
haha been there man! the "man up" stage lasts about two hours until you realize you cant even put your socks on. take some aleve and just keep the leg elevated when you can. it’ll pass but definitely a lesson learned right? quads are a "one and done" for a lot of guys because of this exact reason.
