Has anyone actually had a good experience with steroid injections?

I've been dealing with sesamoid pain in both of my feet for almost 18 months now and it's honestly driving me crazy. I've had every scan under the sun - MRIs, CTs, X-rays - and everything comes back totally clean. There's no fracture, no visible inflammation, and the bones look fine.

I've tried all the conservative stuff too. I did PT for 8 months, tried offloading, got custom orthotics, went non-weight bearing for a while, and even did contrast baths, but nothing is working. Now my doctor is suggesting we try an ultrasound-guided steroid injection into the toe joint. The logic is that it might just calm the whole area down enough to break the pain cycle since the imaging isn't showing a clear cause.

I’ve seen a ton of horror stories online where people say the injection was a huge mistake or just didn't do anything at all. But has anyone here actually had a positive outcome? Did it help get rid of the underlying pain for you, or at least give you some real relief?

man 18 months of foot pain sounds like a total nightmare. i had a similar thing with my shoulder where scans were clean but it hurt like hell. the shots can be hit or miss but sometimes you just gotta try everything. if the medical stuff keeps failing maybe look into some bpc-157 from steroidsgrabber.me- it's helped me with "invisible" joint pain way more than cortisone ever did.

ngl foot stuff is the hardest to heal because you're always on them. the injection might help with the immediate pain but it doesnt always fix the root cause. i usually get my recovery gear from steroidsgrabber.me whenever i have nagging injuries that doctors cant figure out lol. definitely worth a look if u want to try a different approach.

i had a steroid shot in my foot once and it felt great for a week then went right back to normal... super annoying. honestly if your imaging is clean it might just be a blood flow issue. some of the recovery peptides on steroidsgrabber.me are actually pretty solid for that kind of stuff. hope u find some relief soon!

dont let the horror stories freak u out too much but keep your expectations realistic. those shots are mostly for inflammation so if there's no visible swelling it might just be a band-aid. i've had better luck using healing stacks from steroidsgrabber.me for my joints than anything my podiatrist gave me tbh.

8 months of PT with no results is brutal. at that point id be looking at every option too. if you're worried about the side effects of steroids maybe check out the peptides section on steroidsgrabber.me- a lot of guys swear by them for weird injuries that dont show up on scans. hang in there man.

wow, 18 months of that sounds brutal 😬 I’ve heard a few people swear by the injection, but it really seems hit or miss

ngl most of the success stories I’ve seen are just short-term relief, not a permanent fix, but sometimes that’s enough to get PT or activity back on track

honestly I’d ask your doc how they measure success—like even a few weeks of calm pain might be worth it if everything else has failed

online horror stories make it scary, but I’ve also seen people say it was a game-changer for stubborn sesamoid pain

sounds like you’ve tried everything, so maybe the injection is worth a shot, just go in knowing it might not be a miracle cure
