hey guys has anyone actually done this before?? i’m wondering if there are any major issues i should look out for.
so for some context i found this thing called an inject-ease recently. its basically a gadget that turns an insulin needle into something like an epipen-it fires the needle in super fast but you still get to push the plunger yourself so you can check for blood and stuff. i know insulin is usually subq and you can do hormones that way too so i figured why not try it? i live in a state where you can just buy insulin syringes over the counter so i just went out and grabbed a box.
honestly i literally just tried it like two minutes ago. the biggest headache was getting the liquid into the syringe without it being a total bubble fest... a few of them were so bad i just tossed them and started over with a fresh one. there’s this little adapter on the device that hides the needle but i took it off cuz i wanted to be able to see the syringe when i pull back to aspirate. it actually worked pretty well but now im kinda paranoid that the needle is too thin to even pull blood if i did hit a vein? i mean the hormone oil went in so blood should too right? maybe i just didnt wait long enough to see.
anyways i probably wouldnt recommend this to everyone since there is alot of room for error here. i guess i should have asked if anyone else has tried this first lol totally backwards way of doing things! but yeah are there any huge risks i'm missing? besides like the needle snapping off or something-i actually kept a pair of tweezers nearby just in case that happened haha.
lol wow that sounds intense ngl. i’d be paranoid too—i think as long as you’re careful with bubbles and checking for blood, you should be okay, but it’s definitely not beginner-friendly
haha yeah i’ve seen those inject-ease things online, they look kinda wild. thin needles make aspirating tough sometimes, doesn’t always mean you hit a vein
ngl i’d probably just stick to normal syringes until you get the hang of it. sounds like a fun gadget but also one small slip and yikes
lol your tweezers comment got me—definitely better to be prepared than regret it later. honestly just go slow and double check everything, especially with oil injections
yeah the main risk is just hitting the wrong spot or air bubbles, i’d also keep an eye on sterility. everything else is mostly about technique, so maybe practice with water first or something
lol wow this sounds way more stressful than I imagined. bubbles alone would make me panic 😂
yeah thin needles can make aspirating tough sometimes, doesn’t mean it’s not going in though. you just might not see blood every time
ngl keeping tweezers nearby made me laugh, but honestly good call if you’re nervous about the needle snapping
seems like the main risk is just user error honestly… like not prepping the syringe right or panicking mid-injection
glad it worked out for you! I’d probs practice on something harmless first just to get comfy before doing actual doses
