I see you guys mentioning pinning pecs and lats all the time on here, but since I'm still on my first cycle, the idea honestly makes me a little nervous. I'm still pretty new to the whole process and I'm wondering if those spots are even a good idea for someone who's on the smaller side and fairly lean?

A lot of the dudes posting here are absolute units with years of experience under their belts, so I don't want to just blindly copy what the pros are doing and end up hurting myself. Right now, I just rotate between my delts and ventroglutes since those always seem to go smoothly for me without any issues.

I'd definitely appreciate some pointers from anyone who hits pecs or lats - like where exactly are you aiming and what's your technique like? Any advice on other muscle groups would be great too. Thanks in advance!

honestly if delts and ventros are working I wouldn’t rush to change anything. no need to fix what isn’t broken

pecs/lats look scary at first ngl, especially if you’re lean. I waited a long time before even considering them

most of the “just pin anywhere bro” advice comes from dudes with way more tissue to work with

rotating a few solid sites > forcing new ones just cause you see it online

first cycle is about keeping things smooth and boring imo, not experimenting with every spot

I skipped pecs entirely and never felt like I was missing out on anything

smart move not copying the biggest guys blindly- everyone’s build is different

if you’re nervous about a site that’s usually your sign to leave it alone for now

honestly if delts and VG are working for you id just stick with that for now. no rule says you gotta pin pecs or lats on your first run, plenty of people never touch them and do just fine

pecs and lats sound scarier than they are but they’re def not beginner friendly imo. i waited a couple cycles before even thinking about them and i’m glad i did

you’re smart not copying the huge dudes blindly lol. a lot of them have years of scar tissue and muscle to work with. lean + new = higher chance of a bad time if you rush it

i tried pecs once early on and went right back to delts after. wasn’t terrible but it messed with chest days and that alone made it not worth it for me

rotating delts and VG is already a solid setup especially on a first cycle. get comfortable, build confidence, then maybe experiment later if you even feel the need 👍
