looking for some help on how to actually get a prescription for testosterone. i know i could just go the ugl route and be done with it but i really wanted to try getting it through a doctor first since my levels are actually borderline low - i think it was around 325 last time i checked. my current primary doctor is being a pain though and wont write me a script at all and im 26 m for reference.

does anyone know which mens clinics are more chill about dosages? like i dont want a place that's gonna cap me at 100mg a week because i want to get closer to 250 so i can basically run a beginner cycle.

also if you didnt use a clinic and actually found a regular doctor to do it so you could use your insurance how did you even find them like whats the best way to track down a doc who isnt gonna gatekeep?

man 325 at 26 is definitely in that annoying "gray area" where most general practitioners won't touch you. they're trained to only care if you're like under 250. honestly don't even waste your time with a regular primary doctor—they're almost always gonna gatekeep or give you a tiny dose that makes you feel worse.

if you want 250mg a week through a clinic just a heads up that most of them cap out at 200mg. 200 is still a "high" trt dose and honestly for a lot of guys that'll put them near the top of the range or even slightly over. if you're dead set on 250 you might have to just supplement a little ugl test on top of your script... but 200mg is a solid place to start if you've never run anything before.

insurance is a nightmare for this at your age bro lol. most companies require two separate fasted morning blood draws under 300 to even think about covering it. if you find a urologist they might be more sympathetic than a primary care doc but it's still a toss up. if you got the cash just go to a clinic and pay the "bro tax" to avoid the headache of begging a doctor who doesn't get it.

lmao "gatekeep" is the perfect word for it. i went through 3 different doctors before i just gave up and went to a mens clinic. the clinics actually want your business so they're way more likely to treat your symptoms rather than just looking at a number on a page. plus they won't freak out if your levels hit 1000 whereas a regular doc would probably cut your dose in half immediately.

yo just a thought but if you do find a "chill" clinic make sure you're keeping an eye on your bloodwork yourself. a lot of those places will just keep cranking your dose up as long as you keep paying but at 250mg a week your hematocrit and estrogen are gonna start climbing. dont just trust them blindly—be your own advocate since they're basically just legal dispensaries at this point!

man, 325 at 26 is the classic "clinically normal but feels like crap" trap. doctors see that number and think you're fine because the range starts at 300, but they don't get that a 26-year-old shouldn't have the T levels of a 70-year-old. if your primary doc is being a wall, stop hitting your head against it. clinics like trt nation or even hone are way more "symptoms-based" and won't make you feel like a criminal just for wanting to feel optimal.
