starting a grad program soon and they do a drug test at the start and then maybe some random ones later on. they said it could be anything like urine blood or even hair which has me a bit worried because ive been using modafinil to help with studying... does anyone know if that actually shows up on a standard screen?
also im kinda paranoid about the stuff im getting from india or cn like maybe the quality control isnt great and it might have some cross contamination with other meds that would actually make me pop positive. is that even a thing or am i just overthinking it lol. if i do need to stop taking it how long should i give myself to make sure its totally out of my system before the test? thanks for the help!
man dont worry about the modafinil. standard screens (even the 10-panel ones) are looking for stuff like weed, coke, and amphetamines. unless your school is specifically paying extra to hunt for study meds (which basically never happens) it wont even show up on the radar.
honestly the cross contamination fear is a bit of a stretch lol. yeah quality control in some of those huge plants in india isnt fda level but the chance of enough "other" stuff getting into a modafinil batch to make you fail a test is pretty much zero. your overthinking that one for sure!
if you want to be totally safe just stop taking it like 4 or 5 days before the test. it has a pretty short half-life and should be cleared out of your urine within a couple days anyway. blood and hair are a bit different but again they have to be looking for it specifically to find it.
i was in a similar boat for my job and panicked but i did some digging and modafinil isnt an amphetamine so it doesn't trigger the "speed" part of the test. stay hydrated and youll be fine bro good luck with grad school!
the only time people really get popped for moda is in professional sports because its on the wada list. for a regular university or workplace test they just dont care enough to spend the money on the specialized testing required to find it.
if you are super paranoid just keep the prescription handy if you have one. if not just take a week off before the start of the program to clear your head and your system. itll probably help your tolerance anyway haha.
grad school drug tests are usually just a formality to check the boxes. they're looking for the heavy hitters not someone trying to focus on a textbook. just keep it chill and dont sweat the small stuff man.
