got some bloodwork done at the docs office this morning and the lady totally blew out the vein on the inside of my elbow. its all swollen up now and honestly it looks pretty nasty. i did a little bit of googling and it’s just the usual stuff like ice it and keep it rested but i’m wondering if anyone else has dealt with this and if it messed with your lifting at all
i was actually supposed to hit arms today but i’m definitely gonna swap that for something else bc i really dont want to make it worse or have it burst again mid-set lol. how long did you guys wait before going back to heavy pulls or curls? just dont want this to turn into a bigger deal then it already is so any advice is welcome!
man that happened to me last month and my arm looked like a rotten banana for a week lol. honestly the bruise looks way worse than it actually is. i wouldnt do heavy curls today just because the skin feels so tight and weird but you'll probably be fine in 2-3 days once the swelling goes down.
ugh i hate when they dig around and mess it up. id definitely skip arms today... i tried to power through a back day once with a blown vein and it felt like my arm was gonna split open from the pump. just give it like 48 hours and the "pressure" feeling should go away.
ice it for sure man. as long as its just a hematoma (fancy word for a bad bruise) u aren't gonna "burst" anything mid-set lol. the blood is already out of the vein and trapped under the skin. id stay away from heavy pulls for maybe two days just so u dont irritate it more though.
