I'm curious if anyone here has any insight into what the bodybuilding scene is actually like in Seattle?

I’m making the move there in March and I’m planning on jumping into my first competition at the Emerald Cup in April. Is anyone else on here going to be at that show or have any advice for a first-timer?

From what I’ve seen online, it looks like "KlickWay" is basically the main bodybuilding gym in the area. I was thinking about training there, but I wanted to check if there are any other spots with a more active group of competitors or if that’s really the place to be.

emerald cup is a massive show for your first one man - the competition there is usually pretty top tier so be ready to bring your absolute best! seattle has a cool scene but it’s definitely concentrated in a few spots. klickway is legendary for a reason but definitely check out city fitness if you want a bit more of a gritty vibe too.

welcome to the pnw soon brother! emerald cup is basically the olympics of washington bodybuilding lol. i’ve never trained at klickway personally but everyone i know who competes swears by it because the atmosphere is just different when everyone around you is prepping. see you in april maybe!

seattle is a vibe but the rain can definitely mess with your motivation during a prep haha. klickway is solid but honestly just find the gym closest to where you're living because traffic in seattle is a nightmare and you dont want to be stuck in a car for an hour when you're fasted and cranky.

im planning on being at the emerald cup too! maybe not competing this year but i’ll definitely be there watching. my advice for a first timer is just soak it all in and don't stress the small stuff too much - the backstage energy at that show is insane. klickway is definitely the spot if you want to be around serious lifters.

klickway is definitely the "it" spot but dont overlook some of the smaller powerlifting or old school gyms in the suburbs if you end up living outside the city. good luck with the move and the prep man- april is gonna come fast so i hope you're already dialed in!

honestly emerald cup is such a sick choice for your first show - the production is huge and it’s basically a rite of passage for guys in the pnw. klickway is definitely the spot if you want to be surrounded by massive dudes and that prep energy but just a heads up it can get pretty packed during peak hours. definitely try to get there in march and get a few weeks of training in before the show just to get used to the equipment. good luck with the move man!
