so i was listening to simmons go on and on about how insane lebron is at 38-and he's not wrong it is crazy-but it just got me thinking how nobody ever brings up peds as a possibility. like these guys have millions of dollars on the line so the incentive to use is huge but you almost never hear about anyone getting busted which makes me think it must be super easy to dodge the tests.
why is this just like a forbidden topic or something? i'm not even saying i’m against it honestly because from what i understand hgh is mostly about healing up and recovering faster from injuries rather than just giving you some unfair advantage on the court (besides just being able to actually stay healthy enough to play) i might be totally wrong about that last part though but thats just my take. anyway it just seems weird that there's zero discussion about it when the results are this wild.
yeah it’s kinda wild how nobody ever talks about it out loud. like we’re all supposed to just pretend elite recovery at 38 is totally normal
I don’t even think people mean “cheating” when they bring it up, more like… how do you stay that healthy for that long without something helping
the testing convo is definitely taboo. feels like one of those things everyone knows but no one wants to touch
ngl I always assumed recovery was the real advantage too, not turning someone into the Hulk overnight
you’re not crazy for thinking this. the silence around it is honestly louder than any accusation lol
yeah it’s def one of those topics everyone side-eyes but nobody wants to touch - kinda weird given how obvious the incentives are
i think people just don’t wanna ruin the magic honestly, easier to call it genetics + work ethic and move on
pro leagues test but they’re also not dumb - it’s probably more about not getting caught than not using at all
hgh being more recovery based is why a lot of people justify it i think - staying healthy is a huge edge
either way lebron at 38 is still wild lol even with “help” that level of consistency is nuts
