Hey guys, could use a hand with an L-carnitine recipe. I’m looking to hit 500mg/ml and just need a solid, reliable guide to follow so I don't mess it up.
Also, since L-carnitine is totally legal, I'm assuming getting the raw powder from somewhere like BulkSupplements is a safe bet? If anyone has a go-to recipe or a better source for the raws, let me know.
i've brewed a lot of carnitine and 500mg/ml is a solid target- any higher and it starts to get really sticky and hard to push through a thin needle. for the powder bulksupplements is usually okay but some guys swear by the purebulk stuff because it seems to dissolve a little cleaner. just make sure you use plenty of bac water and maybe a tiny bit of ba to keep it sterile. good luck man!
man just a heads up that carnitine is a total pain in the ass to filter compared to oil. it’s water based so it goes through quick but it can be super crashy if you don't get the ph right. i tried the bulksupps powder once and it worked fine for me but i had to heat it up a bit to get it all to clear up. its way cheaper than buying those overpriced pre-made bottles though!
definitely get yourself some 0.22 micron syringe filters if you're doing this at home. carnitine is basically a magnet for bacteria once it's in water so you gotta be extra careful with your sterile technique. 500mg is the standard dose for a reason- it works great but just be ready for the "fishy" smell if you spill even a drop on your counter lol.
i’ve been doing the diy carnitine thing for a year now and it's the best way to do it. i usually just mix the raw powder with bacteriostatic water and hit it with a coffee warmer until it’s crystal clear. super simple recipe really- just don't forget the benzyl alcohol at 1% or so just to be safe. it makes a huge difference in fat loss once you get the timing down!
