Hey guys, I’ve been on a cruise for about five months now and I’m finally ready to kick off a real cycle. I’m planning on running somewhere between 500-600mg of test along with 500mg of deca every week.
This would actually be my first time using deca, though I’ve run NPP a bunch of times at 350-450mg a week without any issues at all. I'm curious what you guys usually dose your deca at? Also, for those who've used both, do you actually notice a big difference between NPP and deca besides the ester length? Just want to see if it’s worth the switch.
if you handle NPP at 450mg with no issues you'll be totally fine with 500mg of deca. the only real difference for me was the mental aspect- deca takes forever to clear out so if you do get sides, you're stuck with them for a few weeks. npp is way easier to "turn off" if things go south.
honestly the gains are pretty much the same but deca definitely makes my joints feel like they're made of silk lol. the water retention is a bit more noticeable than npp though so keep your AI handy just in case the bloat gets out of hand. 500/500 is a classic "bulk" stack for a reason!
i prefer deca just because i hate pinning every other day haha. 500mg is a solid dose but just remember it takes like 4-6 weeks to really "saturate" and start feeling the strength gains. dont get impatient and bump the dose early or youll regret it once it finally kicks in.
pretty much what everyone else said- it's the same hormone just a longer fuse. one thing i noticed is deca makes me a little "lazier" mentally compared to npp but that might just be in my head. 600 test and 500 deca is going to put some serious size on you if your food is on point.
just watch out for the "deca dick" if your prolactin gets high. since it stays in your system so long, i'd definitely keep some p5p or caber on the side. if you've done npp before u probably know your body well enough though. good luck with the blast man!
tbh if you've run npp at 450 without issues you'll be totally fine with deca. it’s the same hormone at the end of the day- the only difference is the deca bloat hits a bit harder for some guys because it stays in your system so long. i usually run it at 400-500mg and the joint relief is way better than npp for me.
just remember deca takes like 6 weeks to really "kick in" compared to npp being almost instant. dont be like me and get impatient at week 3 and double the dose lol. the mental sides can sneak up on you way later in the cycle since the ester is so long. 500mg is a solid sweet spot though.
if it aint broke dont fix it? lol but nah deca is cool because u only have to pin once or twice a week. i didnt notice a huge difference in actual muscle gains between the two but deca definitely made me look "fuller" (aka more water weight). just watch your prolactin levels
since its your first time with the long ester just keep an eye on things down there. i can run npp all day but for some reason deca at 500mg messes with my libido around week 10. as long as your test is higher than the deca like you planned you should be golden though.
ive run both and i actally prefer deca for bulking just cuz i hate pinning every other day. if your doing 500mg test and 500mg deca thats a classic "old school" cycle. youll get strong as an ox. just be ready for the weight to stay on for a while after u stop because of that long ester
