so ive been doing subq for like almost a year now but im switching over to IM since im starting test. honestly im kinda nervous about hitting a nerve or just dealing with some nasty side effects from the shot itself if i do it wrong-does anyone know a good place to actually learn where to pin IM and the right way to go about it? really just looking for some solid tips or guides so i dont mess this up thanks guys
honestly man dont overthink it - i was terrified of hitting a nerve too but it’s way harder to do than you think. check out "boston lloyd" or "calum von moger" old videos on youtube, they show the spots really clearly.
i switched from subq to IM last year and honestly the muscle soreness (pip) is the only real "side effect" if you do it right. just go slow and make sure you're relaxed. if you tense up the muscle it hurts way more lol.
ventroglute is the goat for IM. it’s basically painless and there are barely any nerves there to worry about. just search "how to find ventroglute" on youtube and you'll find a ton of medical guides that make it easy.
check out the wiki on the r/steroids sub if you havent yet. they have a whole section on "injection home" with diagrams and everything. it’s basically the gold standard for learning how to pin safely.
thighs are easy to reach but man the nerves there can be jumpy. i'd stick to glutes or delts for your first few. just use a 25g or 27g needle and you'll barely even feel it go in - you got this bro.
totally get the nerves man, IM looks scary at first but after a couple times it becomes routine. just go slow and don’t rush it
i was terrified of hitting a nerve too watching legit medical demos helped way more than random forum advice
first shot is the worst mentally, after that you’re like “oh… that was it?” lol
make sure you’re relaxed when you do it - tensing up makes everything feel way worse
if you can, having someone experienced show you once in person is a huge confidence boost
