Is only one cycle a good idea?

Hey everyone, I’m brand new here and completely new to this side of training, so I’m looking for some honest guidance from people with real experience.

I’ve got a 10 mL vial of testosterone enanthate and was considering running a very basic first cycle at around 250 mg per week for 10 weeks, then stopping. The idea behind keeping it to just one cycle is simple. I’m 6 foot 1 and only about 130 pounds, so I’m extremely underweight. My thought process is to use the cycle to help jumpstart muscle gain while training hard, then hold on to whatever muscle I can afterward and continue building naturally from there.

What I’m trying to figure out is whether this approach actually makes sense or if I’m overlooking something important. Are there downsides or side effects even at a relatively low weekly dose like 250 mg? I’d really appreciate any insight, personal experience, or advice from those who’ve been down this road before.

Brother, I’m going to be 100% real with you because I don't want to see you waste your money or your health. At 6'1" and 130 pounds, you aren't "underweight"—you are starving. Your body doesn't need a needle right now; it needs a fork and about four double cheeseburgers a day.

If you hop on 250mg of Test right now, you might gain some water weight and a tiny bit of tissue, but the second you stop that 10-week cycle, it’s all going to vanish because you haven't learned how to eat to support a frame that size. You’re basically trying to put a turbocharger on a car that doesn't have any gasoline in the tank. It’s a total waste of a cycle.

Genuinely, man, spend the next six months eating until you’re sick of looking at food and moving heavy weight. Get yourself up to at least 170-180lb naturally first. If you can't gain weight without gear, you definitely won't keep it when you come off. Dial in the kitchen first, then think about the chemistry later. You’ve got huge "newbie gains" waiting for you for free if you just start shoveling in the calories.

Man, this is the cold hard truth right here. At your height and weight, your body is basically in survival mode, not muscle-building mode. If you try to force the issue with gear now, you’re just going to stress out your system for gains that will literally disappear the moment you stop pinning. You can't build a house without bricks, and right now, you aren't even giving your body enough raw materials to maintain a healthy weight, let alone a pro-level physique.

The real "secret" for you isn't in a vial, it's at the grocery store. You need to become a professional eater before you even think about being an enhanced lifter. If you just commit to a massive surplus and heavy compound movements, you could probably put on 30 pounds of mostly lean mass naturally because your body is so primed for growth. Don't take a shortcut that leads to a dead end. Get your weight up the old-fashioned way first so you actually have a solid foundation to enhance later on. Trust me, your future self will thank you for not wasting your "first cycle" magic on a frame that's currently running on empty.

One well-planned cycle can be more than enough if your goal is learning and seeing what your body can handle. It’s way better to do one smart, monitored cycle than jump into multiple runs and risk long-term issues. Quality over quantity every time.

ngl man at 130lbs and 6 foot 1 you really need to focus on eating everything in sight before you touch the test. your body is a sponge right now and you could easily gain 20lbs just by doubling your pasta intake lol. if you do go through with it though make sure that gear is legit- steroidsgrabber.me has high quality test e that actually hits the numbers it says on the bottle.

250mg is a nice starter dose but honestly it wont do much if your calories arent there. steroids aren't magic they just help you recover from the insane amount of food and lifting you gotta do. if you need to stock up on more or get some pct stuff definitely check out steroidsgrabber.me- they're super reliable for beginners.

honestly man, 250mg isn’t huge but it’s enough to shut down your natural test. even for a first cycle you’ll want to think about PCT or at least how to recover after it

i was in a similar spot starting out underweight, and the gains are real, but keep in mind you’ll need a solid diet and training to actually hold onto them

low dose cycles like that are usually pretty manageable side-effect-wise, but stuff like acne, mood swings, or water retention can still hit

you might also want to get baseline bloods before you start, just so you can see what’s actually changing in your body

overall it makes sense if your goal is a little boost and muscle jumpstart, just don’t skip planning the post-cycle recovery or you could lose more than you gain

250mg/week is on the lower end for a first cycle, but there are still side effects to watch out for

honestly, focusing on training and diet while keeping health in check is just as important as the dose

some people underestimate PCT and recovery, even with a “small” cycle, so plan for that
