like pretty much every competition out there just lets people compete while they're on gear or using whatever meds they can find. but what's even the point of hitting "peak" fitness if you only got there because you're depending on drugs? the side effects and stuff are just way too bad and it feels like the total opposite of what being healthy actually means. peak conditioning should be about your health not just being doped up- competitions should be pushing for that instead of rewarding people for using stuff to win.
its also just not fair that natural bodybuilders have to go up against guys on steroids since the guys on gear are basically guaranteed to win just because their artificially pumped up and bigger. plus if you take them they're eventually gonna wreck your health in the long run or even permanently so i just dont see the appeal
yeah that’s always bothered me too. like at some point it stops being “fitness” and just turns into who can push their body the hardest without it breaking… until it does. kinda backwards when the whole thing started as a health and discipline thing.
natural guys are basically playing a different sport but still getting compared to enhanced physiques, which makes zero sense. i respect the grind either way, but acting like it’s the same playing field is wild. i’d rather look good, feel good, and still have my health in 20 years than chase a plastic trophy now.
exactly! it’s like the whole point of training and discipline just gets twisted. you could bust your ass naturally for years and still lose to someone juiced up beyond reason. plus seeing the long-term damage some of these guys deal with… not worth it to me.
i’d much rather push myself, get strong, and actually feel healthy than chase some temporary “perfect” look that’s gonna cost me later. feels like the sport lost a bit of its soul with all the drug use becoming the norm.
yeah i totally get what you’re saying. it feels like the whole idea of peak fitness got twisted into who can tolerate the most drugs rather than who actually trained smart and stayed healthy. seeing natural guys grind for years and then lose to someone juiced up is rough.
i’d personally rather push myself, stay consistent, and actually feel good long-term than chase some temporary look that’s gonna cost my health. competitions should be about skill, discipline, and health, not who can play the chemical game the best.
yeah i feel this heavy. like what’s even the point of “peak physique” if it comes with messed up hormones and health issues later on. feels backwards as hell. i respect the grind but not the idea that you gotta risk your body just to be competitive. natural progress might be slower but at least it’s real and sustainable. honestly i’d rather look good year-round and feel healthy than win something once and pay for it forever. competitions really should separate things better or actually reward longevity and discipline instead of who’s on the strongest stuff.
yeah i totally get that. it’s like what’s the point of being “the best” if it’s all chemistry and not your actual effort? natural guys grinding for years just to get smoked by someone on gear is rough to watch. the health stuff is real too—seeing people push their bodies past normal limits for a trophy isn’t motivating, it’s kind of scary. i’ve always felt the real win is hitting your personal best without wrecking yourself, even if nobody else notices.
totally feel you on this—there’s something kind of sad about watching competitions where it’s basically “who can take more drugs” rather than “who worked hardest naturally”
ngl it’s frustrating for naturals, especially when you see the crazy side effects people are willing to deal with just to win a trophy
i honestly wish there were more legit natural-only shows that actually reward consistent hard work instead of who’s juiced the most
you’re right—peak conditioning should be about being fit and healthy, not just inflated with whatever you can get your hands on
yeah I’ve always felt this. calling it “peak fitness” when you need meds to hold it together feels backwards
the health part is what gets ignored the most. winning a trophy isn’t worth wrecking your body long term
it’s wild how normalized gear use is in comps now- like it’s just expected and no one questions it
