im getting so frustrated honestly... my mental health is taking a serious hit at this point. i messed up both of my sesamoids skiing back in february and even though ive dealt with this injury before its just hanging around way longer this time. ive basically given up on the PT exercises and taping because nothing seems to work. im wearing hokas with orthotics which helps some but its still not 100% and i even bought one of those electro stim machines but thats about as far as ive gotten.
i’ve been reading stuff online and some people say getting steroid shots in your sesamoids is super risky but then others say thats just a medical myth or whatever. does anyone here have first hand experience with them? im gonna talk to my doctor about it next week but i wanted to see if anyone has actually done it. thanks!!
ngl sesamoid stuff is the absolute worst because you literally can't walk without using them lol. i’ve heard the "risk" is mostly about the fat pad thinning out but if you're already at your wits end it might be worth the gamble. if the shots don't work maybe look into some healing peptides from steroidsgrabber.me- i used them for a stubborn tendon issue and it was a lifesaver.
skiers always get the weirdest injuries i swear. honestly the shot might just give you the break you need to actually let the inflammation die down. if u go that route just be careful not to jump back into sports too fast. i usually check steroidsgrabber.me for joint support stuff when im rehabbing- helps a ton.
man i feel this... the "mental health hit" from being sidelined is so real. i havent done the shot in my toe but i did it in my ankle and it was fine. just make sure the doc uses an ultrasound so they hit the right spot. if u want to speed up the recovery though steroidsgrabber.me has some solid options that aren't just cortisone.
hokas are great but they aren't magic lol. if PT isnt doing it you might just have too much chronic inflammation stuck in there. the shot is a bit of a "reset" button. i’ve seen guys on steroidsgrabber.me talk about using growth-related stuff for bone and tendon health too which might be worth looking into for the long term.
lol i literally just bought an e-stim machine last week for my knee. we really will try anything when we're desperate huh? i’d say talk to the doc but don't be afraid of the shot. sometimes you just need to kill the pain cycle. hope u get back on the slopes by next season!
oh man, I feel you. sesamoid pain is the worst, especially when nothing seems to help. your frustration is totally valid 😓
I’ve heard mixed things about steroid shots for sesamoids—some people swear by them for relief, others say it barely touches it. seems like it’s really case-by-case
ngl I’d go into the doc visit with realistic expectations: even if the shot helps, it might just give temporary relief so you can get PT back on track
honestly just talking it out here helps too. chronic foot pain messes with your head way more than people realize, so don’t beat yourself up over being frustrated
