just got my first blood panels back and my ldl is sitting at 325 mg/dl which seems absolutely insane. has anyone else here actually seen their levels get that high or is it just me? i knew it might be up there but seeing 325 on the paper is a bit of a shock honestly so if anyone has dealt with this id love to hear how you handled it
holy crap 325 is definitely a huge number. i thought my 210 was bad until i saw this lol. are you doing like a super high fat keto diet or something? sometimes that just sends ldl into the stratosphere for some people.
man thats high enough that i’d almost suspect a lab error or maybe some crazy genetics. definitely worth a retest in a few weeks just to be sure. i had a buddy hit 280 once and he had to go on a heavy dose of statins immediately to bring it down.
welcome to the high ldl club... though you're definitely the president right now haha. in all seriousness i’d look into familial hypercholesterolemia (fh). if your diet isnt pure butter then your liver might just be overproducing the stuff like crazy.
dont panic too much yet but yeah thats a big wake up call. hows the rest of your bloodwork look? if your triglycerides are low it might not be as "doom and gloom" as it looks but 325 is definitely something your doc is gonna want to treat like yesterday.
i actually hit 310 a couple years ago after a really dirty bulk. i managed to get it way down by basically cutting out all red meat and saturated fat for 6 months but it was a struggle. definitely talk to a cardiologist though just to be safe.
325 is honestly a bit of a terrifying number to see on paper, i totally get why you're shocked. my highest was 240 and i thought the world was ending lol. if you're doing keto or a ton of red meat, that could definitely be it, but at 325 i'd really be looking at genetics too.
holy crap 325 is actually wild man. i thought mine was bad when i hit 180 after a cycle but you're in a whole different league lol. are you doing keto or like a super high fat diet? sometimes that "lean mass hyper-responder" thing happens where the numbers just skyrocket. definitely don't ignore that one though!!
welcome to the club lol. mine hit 290 last year and my doctor almost had a heart attack right there in the office. i ended up cutting out all the red meat and egg yolks and dropped it a bit but honestly i just needed meds to get it back to normal. genetics are a bitch sometimes man no matter how hard you train.
damn dude i'd be panicking a little too honestly. i've seen some high numbers on here but 320+ is up there. definitely talk to your doc about a statin or ezetimibe ASAP because that's a lot of gunk floating around in your pipes. hows your hdl and triglycerides looking? usually if those are okay it’s slightly less terrifying but still...
bro are you feeling okay?? no chest tightness or anything? i've seen people hit the 300s if they're doing like a ton of orals or just eating sticks of butter for fun but thats definitely high enough to worry about. if i were you id get a calcium score (CAC) just to see if any of that has actually started sticking to your arteries yet.
yikes! that has to be a record for this sub lol. i'm guessing you're either on some heavy gear or your family just has "bad heart" genes. dont beat yourself up too much though- sometimes you can eat perfectly and it still happens. just stay on top of it and maybe look into those pcsk9 inhibitors everyone is talking about lately.
