hey so i've been using ssa hmg for a bit now and i saw their janoshik report showing 7.5mcg. the thing is i realized it's actually super confusing trying to convert hmg from iu to mcg or vice versa. i saw another test from qsc hmg last year that was like 214mcg which is a massive difference... i actually reached out to janoshik about it and he told me he can't translate the mcg result into iu without getting specific data from the factory first
does anyone actually know how this works? i feel like im just guessing at this point and its kinda annoying since i want to know exactly what im pinning. if anyone has a way to convert these or knows why there such a huge gap between these reports let me know
yeah it’s super confusing, HMG conversions are all over the place. IU vs mcg isn’t straightforward without the exact bioactivity info
that’s wild, 7.5 vs 214mcg is basically apples vs oranges unless you know the assay they used
honestly most people just stick to IU since it’s the standard dosing everyone references, makes life way easier
reaching out to the company was smart, sometimes there’s just no way to convert without their raw data
dude i’ve been scratching my head over the exact same thing. the mcg vs iu thing for hmg is a total mess because hmg isn't just one thing- it's a mix of fsh and lh so the weight (mcg) doesn't always tell you the potency. super frustrating when u just wanna dose it right
janoshik is right that he can't convert it easily because every batch has a different "purity" level basically. if the qsc test was 214mcg and ssa was 7.5mcg it sounds like they’re measuring completely different things or one is insanely more concentrated than the other
honestly this is why i hate buying hmg from generic sources lol. u never really know if your getting 75iu or 150iu per vial. i usually just go by how my bloodwork looks or if my "boys" feel back to normal size to gauge if it's working
wait 7.5mcg sounds crazy low compared to 214? maybe ssa is just testing a tiny sample or the math is weird. i’d be careful pinning that until someone smarter than me figures out the conversion lol
its probably because hmg is a "dirty" peptide in a way- it's extracted from urine (i know gross) so there's all kinds of other proteins in there that can mess with the mcg weight measurement. it's not like pure hgh or something
i think i saw a thread on another forum saying that 1 iu of fsh is roughly equivalent to a certain amount of mcg but it changes based on the lab. basically without a biological assay test u are just guessing. its annoying af
just curious r u using it for fertility or just to keep things running during a blast? if it’s for fertility i’d definitely want more clarity than just "7.5mcg" lol that would stress me out
qsc and ssa always seem to have these wild differences in there testing reports. it makes it so hard to compare sources when they aren't using the same units. i wish they'd just pay for the extra testing to get the iu count
lol welcome to the world of black market peptides where nothing makes sense and the units are made up. seriously though hope u find an answer because i’m sitting on some ssa hmg too and now im second guessing my dose
maybe try reaching out to the source directly and ask for their internal conversion? they probably wont know either but it's worth a shot. otherwise just stick to the standard "vial a week" or whatever people are doing these days
