I'm trying to figure out if there's a specific reason I'm being blocked from commenting or sending messages. I just set up this account because I'm looking to get involved and pick some of your brains on here, but I'm hitting a wall.
Is there some kind of mandatory waiting period or a time limit for new users? It's a bit confusing since the site lets me create a post, but that seems to be the only thing I can actually do right now. If anyone knows how the restrictions work or what I need to do to get full access, let me know!
just try to hang out and maybe post a few more helpful threads like this one and the mods will usually let you through the gate pretty quick. if you’re still stuck in a few days you might have to message the mods directly to get manually approved but usually it just takes a bit of patience. hang in there man we've all been through the "new guy" jail phase and it's worth it once you can actually join the conversation!
it's super weird that they let you make a whole post but won't let you reply to people—that's usually a sign that you just need a few "upvotes" to prove you aren't a robot. just try to be patient for another day or two and maybe interact with some of the bigger threads where you can. once the system sees you're a real human trying to learn the ropes it should open up the floodgates for you. hang in there man the info on here is worth the wait once you finally get full access!
usually you gotta wait a bit, make an intro post, or hit some minimum post count before DMs and comments fully open up. annoying but pretty normal.
man it is super annoying but yeah most of these forums have a "probation" period for new accounts to stop bots from spamming the boards. usually you have to wait like 24 to 48 hours or sometimes you even need a certain amount of posts before they let you dm people or comment on specific threads. its a total pain when your just trying to ask a quick question but you basically just gotta hang out and wait it out lol. just try interacting with some more open posts and eventually the system will just click over and give you full access. welcome to the club man just be patient with it!
