hey everyone,
finally decided to stop lurking and actually post something lol. been reading a ton on here and finally ready to jump into the peptide world. ive been training pretty hard for a minute now, currently sitting at 6'0" and about 181lbs. im in decent shape but really looking for that extra recovery boost and maybe some local growth without having to go full blast on a crazy cycle or anything.
im planning to start IGF-1 LR3 soon- got a good source lined up - but i want to make sure i dont screw this up. what are the main things i gotta watch out for before i start pinning? i keep reading about blood sugar crashes and people going hypo... does that actually happen often? how do you guys deal with it, like just keep glucose tabs on you or time it with a massive carb meal? also any weird joint issues or long term stuff i should worry about?
for dosing, what’s a good starting point for my size? i was thinking maybe 40-50mcg post-workout then maybe bumping it up to 80 or 100 if everything feels okay but i dont wanna overdo it. plan is to go subq in the target muscle for that day right. also how long should the cycle be - 4 weeks on and 4 off or can i go longer?
anyone run this solo or maybe stacked with a bit of GH lately. did you actually see real gains or just better pumps and fullness? would love to hear from some of you vets who have actually tried it. thanks!
Welcome man, honestly starting low is smart. You can always go up but you can’t undo going too hard day one
biggest thing I noticed wasn’t crazy growth it was the hypo feeling if I didn’t eat… got shaky sweaty and kinda weird like low blood sugar outta nowhere. I started keeping juice or candy nearby and it fixed it fast. gains were more like better recovery and pumps than overnight size
Tried LR3 a couple years back and the biggest thing I noticed wasn’t insane growth, it was those stupid painful pumps and feeling shaky if I trained fasted 😅 keeping some carbs in me before and after helped a lot. Didn’t get crazy size from it solo but recovery and fullness were legit. I wouldn’t jump straight to high doses though, it hits different person to person.
Welcome to the rabbit hole, man! Honestly, at 181 lbs, 40-50mcg is a solid sweet spot. Jumping to 100mcg usually just gives you massive intestinal bloat and a headache without actually building more muscle. IGF-1 LR3 is legendary for the pumps—you'll feel like your skin is literally going to rip open during arm day—but the "local growth" thing is mostly a myth with the LR3 version because it stays active in your system for so long it just goes everywhere anyway.
IGF-1 LR3 is a total trip for the pumps, but don't expect it to build mountain-sized traps on its own if you're running it solo. It’s mostly about that insane round, "photoshoot" fullness and recovery that feels like you're cheating. At 181 lbs, starting at 40mcg is a smart move. Pushing to 100mcg usually just leads to diminishing returns and makes the "hypo" risk way more real.
ran LR3 a while back and the hypo feeling is real if you go in fasted got shaky and sweaty outta nowhere. eating some carbs before or right after helped a ton. gains for me were more fullness and recovery than crazy new muscle but the pumps were borderline painful lol
watch the hand numbness and weird head pressure too, that caught me off guard felt kinda spaced out some days. eating carbs around the shot helped the shaky feeling. gains were subtle but recovery was noticeably better, like less sore the next day which was nice
not gonna lie igf can feel kinda overhyped unless everything else is already dialed in. i ran it a while back and mostly just got crazy pumps and a bit better recovery but nothing that stuck long term. the hypo stuff is real tho i had a couple moments where i felt shaky as hell so yeah having some quick carbs around is smart. if it’s your first go id keep the dose on the lower side and see how you react before trying to push it up too fast
