you won’t lose muscle just cause you’re lifting lighter if you’re still training hard

You won’t lose muscle just from using lighter weight as long as you’re still pushing close to failure. Tension + effort matters more than the number on the plates.

Progressive overload isn’t only adding weight - could be more reps, better form, slower tempo, shorter rest, etc. You’re still progressing.

I actually grew more once I stopped ego lifting and started controlling the weight. My joints thanked me too lol.

That “deep burn” usually means you’re actually keeping tension on the muscle instead of letting other stuff take over. Nothing wrong with that at all.

Best combo for me was heavy compounds + lighter controlled accessories. You get strength AND that mind-muscle feel without going backwards.
