Muscle loss or just "Anavar blowback"?

So I just finished up a quick one-month cycle—did 20mg of Var in the morning and another 20mg at night, along with about 220mg of Test. Broadly speaking, I put on maybe 4 to 8 lbs of muscle and dropped 5-7% body fat. I'm taking those numbers with a grain of salt since water retention and scale inaccuracy are definitely things, and those recomp scales can be all over the place.

Anyway, I’m using the same two scales, and ever since I hopped off the Anavar, my weight has been falling. The "muscle mass" reading is dropping while my body fat is staying neutral. I’m still running 6mg of Reta a week and staying in a moderate deficit, but these sudden shifts started the second I stopped the Var. Is this just some kind of re-equilibrium or blowback effect? I know that happens with other PEDs, but I didn't think it would be this noticeable with Anavar. What do you guys think?

honestly man it’s probably just the dry gains leaving. var makes you look full as hell and once that nitrogen retention drops you’re gonna feel like you’re shrinking but it’s mostly just water and glycogen. i wouldn’t sweat it too much

those scales are notorious for being trippy lol. if you're still on the reta and in a deficit you’re definitely dropping weight, but the "muscle loss" is likely just the var fullness fading out. keep training hard and see where it levels off in a week

var blowback is real but it’s usually just cosmetic. you lose that "pop" and the scales start tripping out because your intracellular water levels are shifting. as long as your strength isn't cratering you’re probably fine

did your strength drop at all? if your lifts are still up then it’s 100% just water weight. peds mess with how those electrical impedance scales read your body comp anyway so i wouldnt trust the "muscle mass" reading at all right now

bro 1 month is a short run anyway. you're likely just seeing the glycogen dump now that the orals are out of your system. happens to the best of us, just stay the course with the test and reta

standard var exit tbh. you go from looking grainy and full to "flat" basically overnight. it’s a mind game for sure but you didn't just lose 5lbs of actual tissue in a few days. just keep your protein up

those recomp scales are literal random number generators sometimes haha. especially when you’re messing with peds and water retention. if the mirror still looks decent just ignore the scale for a minute while your body finds its new baseline

yeah man, that’s totally normal. Anavar gains are usually a mix of actual muscle and water/glycogen. Once you stop, some of that “extra” just leaves

I’ve noticed the same after short cycles—scale drops fast, but your strength and pumps stick around for a bit. Just your body rebalancing

4–8 lbs in a month is solid, but don’t freak if a couple pounds vanish after. It’s mostly water and glycogen being lost, not actual muscle

Honestly the recomposition you get from Var is kind of temporary. The real muscle gains come from what you can keep training naturally

Keeping Reta and your diet steady will help maintain the look, even if the scale swings. Your body just hates sudden changes lol
