was just curious if any of you guys ever bother re-filtering your oils with a .22um syringe filter even if you get it from a source you actually trust?

like if your getting high quality stuff from a good ugl do you think its worth the hassle to draw it all out into a big syringe and push it through a filter into a brand new sterile vial just to be 100% sure everything is clean? i mean its probably overkill but im wondering if its a good safety move or if im just trippin.

my main worry is that since the top labs already do this am i just making things worse by opening it all up? i dont have a professional sterile lab setup or a vent or anything so i dont want to accidentally introduce bacteria or some other crap while trying to be "safe" ya know. is it actually low risk to do at home or just a waste of time?

also has anyone ever tried testing there gear for contamination using those blood agar plates? seen some people mention it online and was wondering if its legit for home testing.

honestly if it’s from a solid source I don’t bother- feels like fixing something that isn’t broken

I’ve had the same worry but opening vials at home feels like you could make it worse not better

labs already filter this stuff so re-filtering always felt like overkill to me

unless you’ve had an actual issue before, I’d prob just trust the source and move on

the mental peace is nice but idk if it actually lowers risk in a real way

agar plate testing sounds cool in theory but feels kinda sketchy without knowing what you’re doing

sometimes “doing less” is actually the safer move

if you’re already stressing this much, that’s prob your answer in itself

I get the caution tho- hormones + injections make everyone a little paranoid at some point

i’ve thought about it before but never actually bothered. if the source is solid i kinda trust they’ve already done what they’re supposed to do

imo the risk of messing something up at home is higher than whatever tiny benefit you’d get from re-filtering good gear

i feel you on the overthinking tho lol. once you start going down the “what if” rabbit hole it’s hard to stop

most ugls that are worth using are already filtering properly. if they weren’t, people would be blowing up left and right
