I have been seeing GLP-1 agonists popping up everywhere in the bodybuilding scene lately and its honestly kind of wild how fast they took off. Its not just for people trying to lose a ton of weight anymore, now you got guys in the gym using stuff like Tirzepatide or Semaglutide to dial in there contest prep or just to stay lean while they're on a cruise.

The way people talk about them is crazy too because it basically just kills the "prep brain" hunger that usually makes dieting such a nightmare. Like, instead of fighting your own biology for 12 weeks you just... dont feel like eating? It feels like a total cheat code for some guys but then I wonder what the trade-off is gonna be long term. Especially when it comes to keeping muscle mass if your not eating enough protein because the appetite suppression is so strong.

Anyway i'm just curious what everyone thinks about where this is heading. Is this just the new standard for getting shredded or are we gonna find out there's some nasty side effects for athletes specifically down the road- also does it take the "discipline" out of the sport if your just using a shot to stop the cravings?

appetite suppression that strong would make hitting protein rough ngl

discipline question is interesting - prep was always about suffering a bit

bodybuilding’s always evolved with drugs so maybe this is just the next thing

wouldn’t be shocked if we hear about athlete-specific issues a few years from now
