Hey guys, I have been wondering if it actually makes sense to run a bulk while taking Reta. Here is my thought process on it: when you are cutting, hunger is not really an issue and your insulin sensitivity is already super high. Plus, your inflammation stays lower since you are not eating in a surplus and dealing with all that extra bloating.
Because of that, your lipids and kidneys are way less stressed out when you are dropping fat. But when you switch over to a surplus, all of those same issues are on the table and can start getting worse. To me, using a compound like Reta during the bulking phase makes a lot more sense to keep all those things in check. What do you guys think?
i tried something similar and ended up “lean bulking” so hard it was basically a slow recomp and strength stalled a bit because i just wasn’t pushing enough calories consistently. pumps were decent and i felt pretty clean but progress was slower than expected
a lot of guys end up unintentionally under-eating or not pushing food consistently enough because the signal to eat just isn’t there, and then the bulk turns into more of a slow recomp without meaning to
i get what you’re saying and on paper it actually sounds pretty smart but in real life reta kinda pulls against what a bulk is supposed to do
feels like reta during a bulk could help keep you from turning a “lean bulk” into a full blown accidental powerlifting offseason diet lol
The only real "downside" is the appetite suppression. If you're someone who already struggles to get their meals in, Reta might make bulking feel like a full-time job. But if you’ve got a massive appetite and tend to get "sloppy" or bloated on a bulk, it’s a game changer for keeping things lean and healthy.
It basically turns a "dirty bulk" into a clinical, high-performance growth phase. Definitely a smart approach.
it’s like a safety net for your bloodwork too. if you can keep the inflammation and lipids from spiraling while you’re pushing the scale up you can stay on blast longer without feeling like a walking heart attack. the only real challenge is making sure the reta doesn't kill your appetite so much that you can't hit your macros. if you can force the food down while the reta handles the metabolic side you’re basically playing the game on easy mode. definitely an interesting approach bro.

honestly i get what you mean but every dude i know that tried bulking on reta ended up struggling to eat enough food after a while lol. health markers probably looked amazing but turning every meal into a chore kinda killed the whole point of a bulk for them
i get the logic for sure but in practice i’ve seen reta on a bulk turn into kind of a double edged sword. health markers look great and appetite control is insane but some guys literally struggle to eat enough to actually grow, so the “perfect lean bulk” ends up being more like a slow maintenance phase with better labs
