Hey everyone! I’m looking into getting my first cycle going soon. I’m planning on running 250mg of testosterone - most likely test p. I need to get my labs done, but I'm not 100% sure which specific markers I should be making sure are included in the blood work panel?
Also, I’m pretty concerned about minimizing any risk of permanent infertility. Does it make more sense to run HCG alongside the actual cycle, or is it better to just save the HCG for my PCT along with a SERM and maybe an AI?
I’d really appreciate any insight you guys have. Thanks!
welcome to the club man! definitely run the hcg during the cycle if you're worried about fertility. it keeps the boys "online" so they dont atrophy as much - it makes the transition to pct way smoother too imo
for bloods you definitely need the basics: total and free test, e2 (sensitive), lipids, and a cbc. also get your liver enzymes checked just to have a baseline. dont skip the pre-cycle labs or you'll have nothing to compare to later!
test p for a first cycle? just a heads up that means pinning every day or every other day. if you arent a fan of needles maybe look into test e or c instead lol. but yeah 250 is a solid starter dose
definitely run the hcg during the blast. i waited til pct my first time and it took forever for things to get back to normal. keeping them "awake" the whole time is way better for your long term fertility
250mg is a great dose to see how you respond. as for the ai, dont just take it because you think you have to. only use it if you actually start getting itchy nips or crazy water retention. better to have it on hand and not need it
congrats on starting! make sure you get your prolactin and shbg checked too. sometimes those get wonky and you wont know why you feel off even if your test numbers look "good" on paper
hey bro i’m a dad of two and stayed on hcg the whole time i was blasting. definitely worth the extra cost for the peace of mind. i’d stay away from saving it just for pct if kids are a priority for you later on
don't overthink the bloodwork too much but make sure you get a "female hormone panel" (funny name but it has everything guys need like e2) and maybe some kidney markers like creatinine too. stay safe man!
congrats on starting the first one. definitely get a full panel-make sure it includes total and free test, e2, lipids, and liver markers like ast and alt. u gotta know your baseline before u mess with anything
for the fertility stuff, running hcg alongside the cycle is way better than waiting for pct. it keeps the boys "online" so to speak so u don't have to jumpstart everything from zero later on.
test prop for a first cycle is bold... u ready for those daily pins? if u hate needles u might wanna swap to test e or cyp for the first run but 250mg is a solid starting dose regardless.
dont forget to check your shbg and prolactin too. sometimes those get overlooked and they can really mess with how u feel. and yeah, hcg on cycle is the gold standard for keeping your fertility.
i usually tell guys to run 250-500iu of hcg twice a week during the cycle. its much easier on the system than blasting a ton of it during pct and it definitely helps with the transition
250mg is a great "tester" dose to see how u react. for bloods, also check your hematocrit and hemoglobin since test can thickens the blood. better to know where u stand now.
