hey everyone im new to the group and tried searching for this since im sure it has been talked about a million times but i couldnt find the right thread so i figured id just start a new one

just for some context im not actually starting a cycle anytime soon im probably years away from that honestly but i just want to learn as much as i can. i see people arguing all the time online about whether you should start slow with maybe 250mg of test or if thats just a waste of time especially if your natural levels are already decent - like mine are around 650 right now. some guys say you should just go for it and start at 500+ since your shutting yourself down anyway so you might as well get the most out of it.

im sure both ways have their ups and downs but i wanted to see what you guys actually think is the better move for a first timer when the time eventually comes. what do you guys reckon - is the low dose route worth it or should i just blast from the start turn up the heat and see what happens?

if you’re years out honestly don’t even think in terms of blasting yet lol. most guys i know who started lower were glad they did just cause you actually learn how your body reacts instead of getting smacked with sides and having no clue what caused it. 500 isn’t going anywhere, you can always go up later but you can’t undo a messy first run.

on the other hand the 500mg crowd isn't totally crazy because if you are going to stick a needle in your glute and shut down your natural production anyway you might as well actually look like you lift lol. since your natural levels are already 650 you might find 250mg a bit underwhelming because by the time you account for the ester weight you aren't really that much higher than you were naturally. but jumping straight to a big blast is a huge gamble if you don't know how you handle estrogen or blood pressure. personally i think the middle ground like 350 or 400 is the sweet spot for a first timer—it is enough to see some serious gains but low enough that you aren't fighting for your life with side effects the whole time. just take your time making the choice man because once you open that door there is no going back to being a natty!

honestly man the whole go big because youre shut down anyway mindset is exactly how dudes end up learning hard lessons fast lol. first cycle is way more about seeing how your body reacts than trying to speedrun gains, you can always add more later but its a lot harder to undo getting wrecked by sides you never saw coming

starting lower honestly makes way more sense for a first run because you can always add more later but you cant unpin too much once side effects start smacking you. bigger dose doesnt automatically mean better if you end up spending the whole time managing problems.

250 vs 500 sounds like a strategy debate but in real life both still shut you down and both come with the same baggage just one is a bit milder
