looking back i feel like i definitely messed up a few things but i want to hear your guys stories- like did you go way too hard on the bulk and just get fat or did you do that classic thing where you skip calves every single workout and now your paying for it lol. literally anything you wish you did different those first 12 months tell me everything so i dont feel alone in my stupidity

oh man, i totally went way too hard on the bulk and ended up looking like a marshmallow for a solid 3 months before i even noticed. also skipped a ton of accessory work because i thought “bench and squat is enough,” and now my shoulders are a bit uneven and my rear delts barely exist lol.

honestly the biggest regret was not tracking anything—weight, diet, progress—just winging it and hoping for the best. would’ve saved so much frustration if i just stayed consistent and patient.

oh man, first year for me was a disaster. i went way too hard on the bulk and looked like a stuffed sausage for months, and yes… calves were basically nonexistent because i “didn’t need them yet.” my traps and chest looked fine but my legs were a joke.

also, i barely tracked anything—just guessed calories and reps—and spent more time watching youtube than actually learning form. looking back, being consistent with basics and not skipping the small stuff would’ve saved me so much frustration.

oh man, first year was pure chaos for me. i went super hard on the bulk and ended up looking more like a marshmallow than a lifter, and yep—completely skipped calves. now they’re still lagging like crazy and it’s a daily reminder lol. wish i’d dialed it back, focused on form, and actually trained everything evenly instead of just chasing ego lifts. live and learn i guess.

oh man, first year was a total disaster for me too. i went full beast mode on chest and arms and completely ignored back and legs—my squat and deadlift were jokes compared to my bench. calves? forget about it, looked like sticks. honestly, i wish someone had just slapped me and said “balance your damn routine” because it took me way too long to fix all the gaps.

oh man, first year was a trainwreck for me too. i basically ate everything in sight thinking i was “bulking” and ended up looking like a soft marshmallow instead of swole. skipped legs half the time because squats scared me and now i have this weird top-heavy vibe going on. also basically ignored any pulling movements and my back is still lagging. looking back i wish someone slapped some sense into me about balance and actually enjoying the process instead of just chasing numbers and mirror selfies. you’re definitely not alone lol.

I went way too hard on the bulk first year, gained like 30 lbs of straight fluff and had no clue about cutting lol. hindsight 20/20

honestly just doing random workouts with zero plan for the first year was my biggest mistake. would’ve saved so much time if I just followed a real program

I ignored back day for months thinking chest and arms were enough… now I pay every time I try pullups lol. lesson learned

not stupid at all lol we all mess up the first year. I wish I had tracked my food and lifts better, would’ve seen way faster progress
