hey so i'm still natty right now but i'm planning on starting a blast and cruise pretty soon-i want to run like 250-500 iu of hcg eod just to keep the boys working since i’m worried about fertility years down the road.
the thing is i’ve been falling down a rabbit hole reading all these different sources and keep getting totally mixed answers. like is hcg desensitization actually something i need to worry about or is it just bro science? what kind of dose would even cause that to happen and what about staying on it long term... also should i be looking into hmg too? just trying to be as careful as possible and take all the precautions before i jump in.
honestly man i wouldnt stress the desensitization thing too much at that dose. it usually only becomes an issue if you're blasting like 2000iu+ daily for a long time. 250-500iu eod is pretty standard and plenty of guys stay on that for years without any problems keeping their size.
bro science definitely blew the desensitization thing out of proportion. as long as you aren't using massive amounts you're fine. hmg is great but it's expensive as hell and usually overkill unless you're actually trying to conceive right this second. stick with the hcg for now.
smart move thinking about fertility before you start. i've been on hcg for about two years straight now while cruising and my bloods are still solid. the boys are still full size and everything works like it should. dont overcomplicate it- just find a dose that keeps them "awake" and stick to it.
if you're really worried just run the hcg in cycles or keep the dose on the lower end like 250iu twice a week. you dont need a ton to maintain the signal. also keep an eye on your e2 because hcg can definitely spike your estrogen and make you feel a bit moody or bloated.
i did the same rabbit hole search when i started lol. most of the "desensitization" talk comes from old studies on mice using insane doses that no human would ever take. 500iu eod is actually on the higher side for a cruise- you could probably get away with less and still be fine.
welcome to the dark side haha. hcg is definitely a good call if you want kids later. hmg is more of a "heavy hitter" for when the time comes to actually make a baby so i'd save your money on that for now. just keep the hcg in your fridge so it stays potent.
honestly man the peace of mind is worth the extra pins. even if desensitization was a tiny risk, having your balls shrink to raisins is a way more common "side effect" of not using it lol. just start low and see how you feel.
i’ve seen guys go on and off hcg for a decade and still get their wives pregnant. it’s not as fragile a system as the internet makes it out to be. just be consistent with it and dont forget to check your aromatization because hcg hits some guys harder than others in that department.

dont even worry about hmg yet unless you get a low sperm count test down the road. its way too pricey for a cruise. 250iu eod is a solid sweet spot- keeps things running without overloading the receptors. good on you for doing the research first though.
you'll be fine man. the biggest "danger" with long term hcg is just the extra needles and the cost. the desensitization thing is mostly just a scary story guys tell on forums. keep your doses reasonable and your bloodwork up to date and you'll be golden.
The desensitization thing gets thrown around a lot but it usually involves really high doses for long periods. 250-500 EOD sounds like what a lot of people run without issues, but labs guesses.
Honestly good on you for thinking about fertility before starting. Most guys don’t until it’s too late. From what I’ve read, moderate HCG use seems pretty standard, mega doses are where problems pop up.
If kids are definitely in your future, I’d honestly talk to a fertility doc and maybe bank some swimmers first. Way less stressful than trying to fix things later.
