hey guys so i got a friend who is on hgh right now and he has some questions cuz i dont really know much about this stuff yet. he has been running 3 iu everyday for about 4 months now but he just got his labs back and his a1c is at 5.7. i know thats like right at the start of the pre-diabetes range and his last few tests before this were like 5.5 and 5.6 so its definitely creeping up there

he wanted me to ask a couple things:

1- is it pretty normal for your a1c to spike like that while your on hgh?

2- will his levels go back to where they were once he stops? someone told him it takes about 3 months for things to go back to normal but we werent sure if thats true or not

i tried looking it up online but there's just way too much info out there and its all conflicting so i figured id ask the vets here who actually have experience with this. thanks for any help you guys can give!

yeah hgh can definitely mess with blood sugar, that slight bump in a1c isn’t unheard of

usually it drifts back down once you taper off, but 3 months is kinda a rough estimate, varies person to person

he should def keep an eye on it and maybe check fasting glucose too, not just a1c

diet can make a huge difference here, even small tweaks help keep it from creeping up more

good call asking around, online info is all over the place and personal experience counts a lot with this stuff

yeah that creep can happen on hgh- it messes with insulin sensitivity for some people especially at daily dosing

5.7 isn’t panic mode but it’s def a yellow light not something to ignore

3 months sounds about right from what guys report but everyone’s different

diet matters a lot here- hgh + high carbs is where people usually run into trouble

fasting glucose and insulin tell more of the story than a1c alone imo

some dudes add metformin or adjust timing and it smooths things out

also sleep and stress can push a1c up more than people think

good on him for checking labs early- way better than finding out years later
