Hey guys, does anyone have a lead on a decent vacuum pump? I’m specifically looking for an oilless model that can handle at least 50l/min and 2 bar. It also needs to have adjustable pressure settings so I can dial it in.
If you’ve used one that fits those specs and actually holds up, let me know. Thanks!
i picked one up on amazon last year for like a hundred bucks and its been a workhorse for my filters. just search for the oilless lab pumps- usually they come with a gauge and a knob to dial in the pressure. super easy to set up
honestly 50l/min is a beast of a pump for home use lol. you might have to check some lab supply sites like vevor or maybe even ebay for a used medical one. just make sure the connectors match whatever flask or setup you’re using!
i’ve been using a cheapo single stage one but it gets hot as hell after 20 mins. if youre doing big batches definitely spend the extra cash on a decent one with a cooling fan. nothing worse than a pump dying halfway through a filter pull - trust me haha
check out the "rocker" brand pumps. they’re specifically made for labs and they're oilless. a bit pricier but they have the exact specs youre looking for and they're super quiet too which is nice if you're working late at night
u might have a hard time finding 50l/min in a small tabletop model but check out some of the HVAC supply stores too. sometimes they have oilless options that are way more heavy duty than the stuff on amazon. just watch the shipping costs bc those things are heavy!
Honestly, eLabPal makes a 50L/min diaphragm pump that’s super quiet. I was surprised because usually the high-flow ones sound like a jet engine lol. Just make sure you get the one with the built-in regulator or you'll have to DIY a needle valve to dial it in
50l/min is a beefy pump! I use a similar spec one for vacuum filtration and it’s a game changer compared to those tiny 10l/min ones. Most of these "unbranded" lab pumps from the bigger suppliers are actually made by the same factory, just look for the one with the best warranty/return policy in case you get a lemon
you’re definitely gonna want a diaphragm pump for those specs. Piston pumps can get hot if you run them too long at 2 bar. I’d look for one that has the dual-head design... it keeps the flow steady at 50l/min without having to redline the motor
check out the JoanLab or HC-50 models. I’ve seen them on eBay and Amazon for a decent price. They’re oilless and usually come with a silencer which is a lifesaver if you're working in a small space. I haven’t pushed mine to 2 bar consistently but for filtration and general lab stuff it’s solid
I’ve been using the ScitoLAB 50L/min for a few months now and it’s been a tank. It’s oilless so you don’t have to mess with messy oil changes, and it has the gauge and adjustment valve right on the front. I think it hits about 2 bar on the pressure side too, so it should fit your specs perfectly
