I've been looking into the different continuous glucose monitors out there lately and I'm trying to narrow down my options. Has anyone here actually used both the FreeStyle Libre 3 and the Lingo?

I'd love to hear how they stacked up against each other in your experience - like, was one more user-friendly or accurate than the other, or were there specific features that made you prefer one over the teammate?

Also, if there are other brands or specific models you think are worth checking out, please let me know. I'm open to suggestions before I make a final call!

i've used both and honestly they’re pretty similar since they're both made by abbott. the libre 3 is technically a medical device so the app is a bit more "boring" but the lingo app is way more geared toward lifestyle and coaching. if you just want the raw data go with the libre, but if you want tips on how your lunch affected your spike lingo is better for that.

honestly the libre 3 is so tiny you forget it's even there. i haven't tried lingo yet but i heard the subscription model is a bit different? i've been using the libre for a few months now to track my fasted glucose and it's been a game changer for my diet. super easy to set up too.

check out dexcom g7 if you haven't yet! i found it way more accurate than the libre 3 which always seemed to read a bit low for me especially at night. but between your two choices i'd say lingo is better if you aren't diabetic and just want to optimize your health since the interface is much friendlier.

lingo is basically just a rebranded libre 3 with a "health coach" app. if you can get a prescription for the libre 3 it’s usually way cheaper depending on your insurance. if not then lingo is a solid way to get the tech without the hassle of a doctors visit. both are super accurate in my experience though!

i tried the libre 3 last year and loved the size but the alarms drove me crazy lol. make sure you can turn those off if you don't actually need them for medical reasons. i've heard good things about the levels app too—they use the dexcom sensors usually and the data visualization is top tier.

honestly i preferred the dexcom g7 over both of them lol. the libre 3 is tiny which is cool but i had so many issues with it falling off or giving me "sensor error" messages. the dexcom app is just way more polished in my opinion. but between the two u mentioned lingo is definitely more user friendly if you aren't actually diabetic and just want to see how pizza affects your sugar.

so i’ve actually used both! the libre 3 is basically the "medical" version while lingo is made by the same company but geared more toward fitness. honestly the hardware is almost identical since it's all abbott tech but the lingo app is way better for tracking meals and exercise. if you just want raw data the libre 3 is cheaper if you can get a script but lingo is easier for "lifestyle" stuff.

lingo is cool because it actually "gamifies" your health a bit and gives you a score based on your spikes. the libre 3 is just a straight line on a graph which can be a bit boring/confusing if you don't know what you're looking at. i'd go with lingo if you want the app to do the heavy lifting for you- its way less of a headache.

i tried lingo recently and was kinda annoyed that you can't see your data on a watch face like you can with some of the other ones. it's a solid sensor though and very accurate compared to my finger sticks. if you're in oregon like me just watch out for the heat- i had one peel right off after a long hike in the sun lol.

just a heads up if you go the libre 3 route- check out an app called levels or nutrisense. they use the libre hardware but give you way better insights than the basic abbott app does. it costs a bit more but if you're trying to really dial in your diet it's 100% worth the extra cash. gl with whichever one u pick!
