Like the title says, I'm a total newbie. I've spent a ton of time digging through the wiki and reading basically every Reddit thread I could find, but I just want to double-check that I'm not overlooking something obvious. I have a few questions that might sound kind of dumb, but I haven't really seen people address them directly.
Up until now, I've only messed with peptides, so that's where all my experience is. I've got my Test ready to go, but I'm doing as much homework as possible before I actually touch the stuff. One "stupid" question: is there any kind of prep work I need to do to the vial before I actually pin? Since peptides have to be reconstituted with water, and Test obviously comes already sitting in oil, I know I don't have to do that specifically. But is there anything similar I'm missing?

welcome to the dark side lol. honestly you're already ahead of the game just by reading the wiki. most guys just stab themselves and ask questions later. since it's an oil, no reconstituting needed like peptides - just pop the cap, wipe the rubber with an alcohol prep pad, and you're good to go.
don't feel dumb man we all started somewhere. only "prep" besides cleaning the top of the vial is maybe warming the vial up in your hand or under your arm for a minute. makes the oil flow way easier through the needle so you aren't pushing for ten minutes lol.
nah you're not missing some secret step. it's way simpler than peptides since there's no mixing. just make sure you're using a fresh needle to draw and a fresh one to pin. keeping things sterile is the only "prep" that actually matters.
pro tip: inject some air into the vial before you draw the oil out. if you're pulling 0.5ml of test, push 0.5ml of air into the vial first. it keeps the pressure balanced so you aren't fighting a vacuum trying to get the stuff out.
lol i remember being terrified of my first pin too. if it's already in the vial, it's ready. just check the oil to make sure it isn't "crashed" (looks like crystals at the bottom). if it is just warm it up until it clears. good luck on the first cycle!
honestly the hardest part of the "prep" is just getting over the mental hurdle of the first needle. the oil is ready to rock. just draw it up, swap the needle tip if you want it extra sharp, and send it. you'll be fine man.
you're definitely overthinking it but that's better than the alternative. just get some alcohol wipes and some bandaids. unlike peptides you dont need to keep test in the fridge - actually keep it at room temp or it'll be way too thick to pin.
you’re definitely overthinking but we all did it our first time lol. one tip: if the oil is thick or you're using a tiny needle just warm the vial up in your hands or under some warm water for a minute. makes it draw way easier and the injection is smoother
welcome to the club! the biggest thing coming from peptides is that the oil is way thicker than bac water. if you try to draw with a 29g slin pin it's gonna take forever. maybe use a bigger needle to draw then swap it for a smaller one to pin? just don't forget to push a little air into the vial first
honestly man the only "prep" you really need is to wipe the top of the vial with an alcohol swab every single time. even if it looks clean just do it to be safe. since it’s oil based you don't have to worry about the fragile peptide stuff so much- just draw and go
