Hey guys, I've noticed something a bit strange with a few of my Test Cypionate vials. They're dosed at 250mg/ml in MCT oil and look totally clear at first glance, but when I hold them up to the light and move the oil around, I can see some kind of faint consistency within the liquid itself.
It’s definitely not floaters or crystals—it just looks like the solution has a slight "swirl" or texture to it when it moves. I’ve even double-filtered these with .22 syringe filters and I’m still seeing it. What’s weird is that I’m noticing this in both my own homebrew and in stuff I got from a well-known sponsor.
I’ve been around a long time but I usually stuck to GSO. I only recently switched over to MCT, which is why I’m just now seeing it since the oil is so clear. There’s zero PIP at all and I can’t even get my camera to focus on it to show you guys. Anyone have any insight on what this actually is?
I've seen exactly what you're talking about! It's basically just the "refractive index" of the powder mixing with the oil. Since MCT is so water-clear compared to GSO, you can actually see the light bending through the hormone. If it was crashing, you'd see actual shards or cloudiness, so your probably fine.
honestly man if there's no pip and it's passing through a .22 filter then i wouldn't sweat it. mct is just way thinner and clearer so you notice every little swirl. i had a batch of deca that did the same thing and it worked great.
its likely just "striations" from the different densities of the benzyl benzoate and the oil. sometimes they dont perfectly "marry" visually even if they're fully dissolved. as long as it doesn't look like snow globe in there your good to go lol.
dude i had the same mini-panic when i switched to mct last year. coming from that dark thick gso makes the mct look like water. those swirls are just the solute (the test) moving in the solvent. totally normal and actually a good sign that its dosed heavy.
if you can't get it to show up on camera its probably just the way light hits the liquid. i call it the "ghost swirl" haha. if you've been around a while you know if it was a real issue you'd be limping after the pin. since you feel fine i'd just keep cruising.
did you heat the oil at all when you were filtering? sometimes if the temp changes fast it creates those little waves in the solution. it's not a big deal at all though-happens to the best of us with homebrewing.

wait till you try some dhb or primo in mct... the swirls get even crazier then lol. test cyp is pretty stable so if it was gonna crash you'd know it for sure. its just the clear oil making you over-analyze it man we've all been there.
I’ve seen that with MCT too - almost like heat waves in water when you move it around. Never had any issues from it, pinned fine
Pretty sure it’s just how super clear MCT shows tiny density differences. GSO kinda hides that stuff. If there’s no floaters or crash you’re prob good
Had a couple pharma vials that did the same thing under bright light. Freaked me out at first lol but nothing bad ever happened
Could be micro air or just the oil moving in layers - especially if it’s been sitting then warmed by your hands. Mine usually disappears after a gentle warm
If there’s no PIP, no cloudiness, no particles… I personally wouldn’t stress it. MCT just shows everything because it’s basically crystal clear
