hey guys ive heard so many different things about using HCG and was hoping someone could clear a few things up for me. im planning on bumping up to 200mg to 250mg of test for a longer period of time like a TRT+ protocol and i was originally planning to run about 500 to 1000iu of HCG alongside it.
but yesterday someone told me that it was pretty stupid to even consider running HCG with test in general and mentioned something about a habituation effect where it stops working. most of the stuff i find online just tells me to go see a doctor or hire a coach which i know is probably the smartest move. i just want to figure out whats actually true and whats the deal with that effect.
thanks for the help
your idea of 500–1000 IU is actually on the higher side for long term use though, and that’s usually where side effects like e2 swings or that desensitization talk comes from. most real world TRT users who tolerate it well tend to keep it more modest and consistent rather than pushing it
the whole HCG “it stops working” thing gets thrown around a lot but most of the time it’s not that simple. from what i’ve seen it’s more about how your body responds over time and how dialed in everything else is, not like it just suddenly shuts off. a lot of guys overthink it when the bigger picture stuff matters more
Total myth man. You aren't going to 'burn out' your receptors with 500-1000iu a week. The only reason people skip HCG is usually to save money or avoid the extra pins. If you want to keep your testicular volume and a better mood profile, definitely run it. Just keep an eye on symptoms like bloat since it does increase estrogen more than test alone.
