Low-dose T cycle - sleep issues

I have been on a TRT dose of 110mg per week for nearly ten years. In the past, I ran three small cycles where I bumped the dose anywhere from 210mg to 350mg a week. I like to keep things conservative, but those doses worked well for what I was trying to achieve.

I decided to start my fourth cycle and bumped the dose up to 315mg. Everything was totally fine for the first four weeks, and I was sleeping great. But around the five week mark, I started getting these weird jolts at night. I keep waking up right as I am about to drift off to sleep. At first, I thought it might be an airway issue or mild sleep apnea being made worse by the higher testosterone. I even tried sleeping more upright with my jaw pushed forward to keep the airway open. My breathing felt completely unobstructed, but I was still getting those jolts.

It feels like it is coming from the nervous system rather than a structural issue. Since I cannot figure out what else to try, I am thinking about cutting the cycle short and just going back to my regular TRT dose where I know I feel my healthiest. Has anyone else dealt with this before?

what stood out in your case is the timing at week 4–5, that’s often when things fully stabilize hormonally so side effects that weren’t obvious early can start showing up more consistently. doesn’t necessarily mean anything is wrong structurally, just that your body might not like that higher steady state long term

i’ve had something kinda similar when i pushed my dose up a bit too. sleep gets weird and you get these random wake ups right as you’re dropping off like your nervous system is just “nope”. for me it always settled back down when i went back to a lower, more stable dose so it might just be your body not liking that extra push

sometimes when you've been on a steady trt dose for a decade, your body gets used to a very specific neurological baseline, and that jump to 315mg might just be enough to keep your sympathetic nervous system stuck in "fight or flight" mode right as you're trying to shut down for the night. before you pull the plug entirely, you could try a massive dose of magnesium glycinate before bed to calm the nerves, but honestly, if it's wrecking your health and peace of mind, dropping back to trt is never a bad call. no amount of gains is worth losing your sanity over sleep deprivation. turn it down and see if they stop.

if you felt dialed in at your TRT dose for years it might be worth listening to that and not forcing the higher run if sleep is getting hit
