hey guys so i been watching some clips about pinning with 27G or 29G half inch insulin pins instead of those massive 23G harpoons that are like an inch or more. honestly i dont really mind the big ones but the smaller ones are just way more convenient for obvious reasons right? my main hang up is figuring out if this actually works for my dose since im doing 75 units which is .75ml of oil twice a week and im just not sure if thats to much volume to push thru a tiny needle or if itll take forever. also dont even start with the its not a real IM shot talk cuz if your lean enough it definitely hits the muscle especially in the delts lol. just looking for some advice if anyone has tried it or what you guys think
honestly once u switch to the 27s you’ll never go back. it takes a bit longer to push the oil through but not having to deal with the 23g harpoons is a total game changer for real
75ml through a 29g is gonna take forever bro lol. your thumb is gonna be cramping by the end of it. id stick with the 27g its a good middle ground for that much volume- still way better than those 23g spears
ive been doing delts with 1/2 inch pins for a year now and my bloods are exactly the same as when i used the big ones. ignore the haters it definitely gets into the muscle if ur not carrying too much extra weight there
i do .5ml with a 29g and it’s fine but .75 might be pushing it if youre in a rush. if u have the patience for a 60 second push then go for it man the lack of scar tissue buildup is worth it
lmaooo "harpoons" is so accurate. i used to get so much anxiety with the 23s. switched to 27g half inch and its literally painless. definitely plenty deep for delts too unless u got some massive shoulders lol
why were we even using those 1 inch needles in the first place? felt like i was pinning for surgery or something. 27g is the sweet spot for me - fast enough but u barely feel a thing
bro i’m doing almost the exact same dose and trust me just get the 27g. the 29s are cool for hgh or whatever but pushing almost a full ml of oil through that tiny hole is a struggle. 27g half inch is the goat for delts though- way less scar tissue in the long run too
bro the "harpoons" are so old school. i do .5ml with a 27g and it takes no time at all. 75 units might be a bit of a squeeze for a 29g though- maybe stick with the 27g if you don't want to be sitting there for a full minute waiting for the oil to move. and yeah, if your delts are lean enough half inch is plenty deep.
totally worth the switch man. i use 29g for my delts and it’s a game changer for scar tissue. .75ml is definitely doable but yeah it’s gonna take like 30-45 seconds to push the oil through that tiny hole. just be patient and dont try to manhandle the plunger or the needle might pop off the syringe lol.
if you're doing .75ml twice a week that's a fair amount of volume for a small muscle like the delt. you might get a little "knot" if it doesn't disperse fast enough. but as far as the needle goes 27g is the sweet spot between "doesn't hurt" and "doesn't take ten years to pin." give it a shot and see how the flow is.
honestly man just try a 27g 1/2 inch first. it’s way faster than a 29g but still feels like nothing compared to a 23g. and dont listen to the "real IM" haters- if you're not carrying a ton of fat on your shoulders that oil is definitely getting where it needs to go. my bloods actually came back better after i switched to shallower pins.
lol i remember using 23g and feeling like i was stabbing myself with a penspinner. i switched to 29g insulin pins and never looked back. the only downside is drawing the oil takes forever so i usually backload them- just pull the plunger out of the 29g and squirt the oil in from a bigger syringe. saves so much time.
