I've noticed lately that people are way more casual about asking if your on gear than they used to be like 10 years ago. Especially the younger crowd-they just have no filter. I get hit with the question all the time in the sauna or even out at bars which is kinda wild when you think about it.
Personally I just tell them straight up no i take testosterone. I dont really feel the need to give a whole life story or elaborate on it but i honestly dont have a problem admitting im not natural at
the sauna asks are the worst man. like i'm just trying to sweat in peace and not talk shop. people definitely lost their filters since sarms became a thing on tiktok
"no i take testosterone" is actually a hilarious way to phrase it lol. i mean technically true right? kids these days definitely have zero chill though. i had a kid at the grocery store ask what my stack was like bro im just buying eggs
honestly i respect the honesty. it's way better than those "fake natties" who claim they just eat chicken and rice 6 times a day. 10 years ago you’d get banned from a gym for even whispering about gear lol times have changed
its the social media effect man. everyone thinks they deserve to know your medical history because they saw a 15 year old on tiktok talking about tren. i just stay quiet usually but i might start using your line
i get the same thing at bars too its so weird. like why is that your opening line?? i usually just tell them i got good lighting and a pump but the "just test" line is a classic. keeps it simple
funny how the stigma is basically gone now. used to be like a secret society or something. now its just casual conversation between sets... kids have no fear of the needle anymore i guess
it is crazy how much it's changed. ten years ago you didnt even talk about it with your training partner unless you were close and now kids in the locker room are trading source names like pokemon cards lol. i guess its good that the stigma is going away but some boundaries would be nice
man i hate being asked at the bar of all places. like im just tryna grab a drink not give a seminar on hormone replacement therapy lol. i usually just say it's hard work and genetics but maybe i should just start saying "im on trt" and see if they stop asking questions.
totally agree with you on the no filter thing. i had a kid who looked about 18 come up to me in the middle of a set to ask if i was pinning. like bro let me finish my reps first?? i like your answer though. it's technically the truth without opening up a massive can of worms
i think since everyone is "open" about it on tiktok now the general public thinks its public info. i dont mind being honest either but some places are just weird to ask. the sauna is definitely one of them like we're both sitting here half naked can we just be quiet and sweat in peace lol.
for real man the younger kids just dont care lol they see someone with decent traps and immediately ask what your running. i think social media just made everyone think its a normal dinner conversation now. i usually just tell them i eat my chicken and broccoli and watch them get confused but your approach is way more honest
