I started Tirzepatide at the end of October, and throughout November and December, I noticed a massive surge in energy. I was basically obsessed with cleaning and organizing every corner of my house. Now, I’m not bipolar, but it honestly felt like what I’d imagine a manic episode is like.
Before this, I’d been on Semaglutide for about 10 months, but I decided to switch to Tirz and taper off the Sema to finally break through a weight loss stall. I stayed on the Tirz for about six weeks, but I started getting some dizzy spells, so I figured it was time to take a total tolerance break from everything.
The problem is that now I feel like I’ve completely crashed. On my days off work, I’m just a total slug on the couch again, which is exactly how I was before I ever touched Tirzepatide. Has anyone else experienced that kind of extreme energy boost while taking it?
Yeah I had a weird energy spike too the first month - felt like I drank 5 coffees nonstop then it kinda leveled out. The crash part sucks though, hope it evens out for you soon
hormones + appetite meds can mess with energy a lot. Might just be your baseline coming back which feels extra rough after that boost 😬 hang in there 💛
I didn’t get manic energy but I definitely had more “get up and go” than usual. Coming off it felt like hitting a wall though you’re not alone
yep I felt the same weird energy spike when I started tirz… suddenly cleaning everything, random errands, couldn’t sit still. then a week after stopping it I was basically glued to the couch, felt like my brain went on vacation 😅 definitely not what I expected from a weight loss drug alone
oh man yeah i got that too when i switched over from sema to tirz, felt like i had a second wind for a few weeks and was cleaning everything in sight. the crash afterwards sucked though, felt like someone hit the off switch. i think it’s just your body readjusting, weird energy spikes are kinda par for the course with these peptides.
The Tirz "productivity high" is absolutely a thing, but it’s a double-edged sword. Since Tirzepatide hits both GLP-1 and GIP receptors, that GIP component actually messes with your dopamine and energy levels in a way Sema never did. You weren't going crazy Tirz just has this weird way of nuking systemic inflammation and clearing "brain fog," which makes you feel like a caffeinated superhero who suddenly needs to color-coordinate their entire closet.
